There's a 1:500 scale model of the area in China. For some reason, this is slightly unnerving.

No deal with the Tories will have any meaningful impact on the DUP base.
There's no way in hell SF are going to take their seats. Remains to be seen how the SDLP would view a Corbyn administration. There's still the potential of 2 Alliance seats- Belfast East and (less likely) Belfast South. They could be lumped in with the LibDems.
Of course no-one should rule out Farron going in with the Conservatives again.

Worth taking Northern Ireland seats into consideration in a hung parliament. 18 seats with 8 DUP, 2 UUP, 1 independent unionist who could be expected to back the Tories. 3 SDLP who could back a Labour minority government. 4 Sinn Fein who follow an abstentionist policy so they'll go nowhere. I expect a load of nonsense talked tonight about that. There are a few potential changes to that total which could have an effect either way.
This may end up being something to take into consideration or it might not. It'll be a long night.

There is less chance of a border poll than Sinn Fein are making out. It suits them politically- especially with the prospect of another election in the north- but they must understand the numbers aren't on their side at the moment.
Also, there seems to be little or no appetite in the Republic. The main parties aren't interested and there isn't a significant popular movement lobbying from below.

I haven't tried them, but Prendas do these:
They also do oversocks which I have tried and they're great for days when overshoes are too much- although they have negligible aero qualities if you're after marginal gains. Two pairs for £15 on the multi saver deal means you don't have to worry about wear and tear.

Hope this hasn't gone unnoticed.

Equally, it is hard to know whether they wouldn't have brought more of the economic aims back had they survived longer.
I'm guessing by this you mean after 1945. You should look into the Night of the Long Knives to put things into a context. Yes, there was a 'red-brown' element to Nazism, but it was only one strand. As has been said, however, calling yourself something isn't the same thing as actually being something. The conclusions of the Nazi project ran, in numerous ways, counter to the aims of the Enlightenment- seeking a return to the world before 1798. Regardless of what they called themselves, what they were trying to achieve ran (and runs) counter to any definition of socialism. August Bebel described the anti-semitism that was a component of it as 'socialism of the fools'- you can't seek to liberate a section of the working class at the expense of another.

This isn't the case. If they try to play UKIP at their game they can't win. Strategically, as soon as they start trying to define a 'sensible' policy, that's it.
More, if they don't defend free movement of labour, frankly, what's the point? It's a key ideological principle. If you think that the reason the left in the west has been on the back foot for the past 30 years is immigration, that's an incredibly narrow reading of history. And that's being charitable.

Graffiti/Great Northern St
Canon G16/cropped and resized
This is at the foot of my street but I've only managed to notice it recently. The gable end is covered in graffiti from the thirties all carved in with, I'm guessing, nails. This is in the middle of a mass of initials, caricatures and insignias. It's quite touching- especially in the innocence of it. That noting of the first air raid siren was followed, 75 years ago this Friday, by the Belfast Blitz which, outside London, saw the heaviest loss of life in a single raid of the war.
