My commute varies from 8km to 25km each way depending on schedule, weather, bike choice etc. I have showers at work so am able to get changed easily. For commuting I have 3 short sleeve jerseys, 3 long sleeve jerseys, 3 pairs of bibs, 2 pairs of 3/4 length bibs and 1 pair of bib tights. Added to that, arm warmers, a windproof gillet and a waterproof jacket, plus gloves and too many caps. This means I can put stuff through the wash every couple of days rather than daily.
Even with a short commute, my view is that I am better/more comfortable riding in proper cycling gear, knowing I am going to have to get changed at work anyway. Cycling kit also dries way quicker so if you have access to an airing cupboard/drying room.

Have been using a repurposed Carerra MTB for dadbike purposes since the build was completed. My daughter is just 18 months and has been enjoying our rides out in the Thule Yepp Nexxt Mini up front mounted on the steerer. She's quite light for her age so don't really notice her on the bike, although the bike isn't the last word in lightweight technology which probably helps limit the impact.

I have dual UK/Australian citizenship and have been in the UK since February. I have a house, etc. all sitting empty at the moment but I've been lucky to be able to work remotely in this time - there is no way I can get back to Perth with any certainty.
Having Aus citizenship doesn't give priority to move up the list for the airlines - nothing to do until I get a confirmed seat, but every email I've received is just to advise my booking has been rescheduled. On top of that today's announcement won't exactly help my cause.

@se1derful - Posted and I had received the item before I'd even sent payment. LFGSS trust

Alloy steerer but might be OK. I have been riding this fork for a couple of years with no issue. Radon Carbonfork 1 1/8" for Disc from bike-discount.de

I've been running these wheels since mid-2018 and have had no issues with the hubs. They seem to be really well made with sealed bearings etc. and they are still smooth with no play. I was kind of painted into a corner with the spec that I wanted , but I would have no concerns about having another pair of wheels built up with Velo Orange hubs

An update a long time coming since the original build. I've covered around 15,000km on the Pearson itself and it's travelled another 30,000km via sea to and from Australia. I moved to Perth in 2012 and made a couple of changes - A suede Cinelli Unicanitor and carbon seatpost made their way onto the Pearson.
I had a recurring issue breaking spokes on the original front wheel so swapped that out for a Miche as it just needed a rebuild properly. Ran the bike like this for a few years with periodic replacements of chain, sprocket and BB before the next updates in 2018.
Given that the purpose of the Pearson is that it's a bike I can run all winter with minimal maintenance it tended to see the worst of the weather (in Perth so all relative) and whilst I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of disc brakes on a road bike, the wet weather performance can't be ignored so it was something I looked into further given I was looking to move back to the UK at some stage.
The main constraint was to find a 1 1/8th straight steerer carbon fork with disc mounts and eyelets to allow me to continue to run mudguards. A fair bit of searching and research lead me to only find one option which was the Radon Carbonfork 1 1/8" for Disc from bike-discount.de
I'd also need some wheels built up to complete the upgrade to the front disc. Given that I needed a 100mm QR 6 bolt disc front hub and a 120mm rear hub with track nuts, and wanted them to match and wanted be able to use the existing 32h Velocity Deep V rims - Velo Orange came to the rescue with a Grand Cru Disc Touring Front Hub and a Grand Cru Fixed/Free Rear Hub.
I had the wheels built by a fantastic builder in Perth, Adrian at Melody Wheels - https://melodywheels.com.au/georges-fixed-track/
With the new wheels, some new brake levers and a change to white fizik microtex bar tape, the Pearson ran like this on my commutes to work until it was packed up for it's trip back to the UK, 8 years after leaving Manchester.
Roll onto March 2020 and we're back in the UK and the Pearson is back on commute duties in rural Norfolk and all is good in the world.
There's nothing I'd look to change now and despite having a number of bikes over the last 10 years it's probably my favourite as it just works.

Had an update that the item that was listed in stock when I ordered at the end of April, and was then subsequently then out of stock and due in at the end of May is now not due in until mid-June. I've cancelled my order as I've got no confidence that this will ever arrive.
I've taken @Pifko advice and just ordered the part individually from eBay - OK it was £5 more than Tweeks, but that's a small price to pay to actually receive what I now need whereas some 6 weeks ago it was just a bit of preventative maintenance.

Brilliant - thanks for that. I'm under no illusions that this a fairly basic machine, but if I can get some half-decent coffee out of it, I'll be happy.
I am still using the standard pressurised basket, so will look to invest in a non-pressurised version. Thanks so much for posting the specs of yours.

So, all of the items (other than the one that was now flagged as out of stock) arrived on Friday. That was a month from order to dispatch for items that were listed in stock.
The item that is now out of stock (despite being listed in stock when I ordered) has no update other than they were expecting stock in late-May.
This will be the first and last time I use Tweeks for sure. I liked the idea of getting most of the components from one place, but in future I'll just buy items separately from the likes of CRC, Merlin, Tredz, Planet X, etc.
Virtually unused - probably for 150km max. Includes yellow Shimano SPD-SL cleats which also virtually unused. Bought for wife who never really took to road cycling so have been sitting taking up space.
£60 posted and will make 10% donation to LFGSS.
