Hi everyone - I too would like some advice!!!
My charge plug got stolen a few months back, If and when my insurance comes through I was hoping to replace it. This is where the conundrum lies.... which bike should I go for??? should I stick with the plug, is this bike being discontinued? Are there any better OTP bikes available? I need to get back on the road again pretty quickly and am not skilled to build a bike in such a short space of time.
Also, this summer I am going on a cycling holiday around europe with some friends. I doubt I would survive fixed or ss. and was planning to build a nice but strong little number. I think this would be a nice project to work on and it would help me get more savvy with the mechanics of bikes. any advice would be really appreciated.

hello, my charge plug got stolen outside of my yoga studio last wednesday on Vestry St, just off city road. It was locked up with super strong kryptonite lock. I think it was a professional job as both the lock and the bike have totally vanished and now I think of it, there was an odd old white guy just hanging around with a bike leaning against a tree I'm guessing it must of been him. I don't really feel like I have any hope of having it returned and the police have already closed the case! However, I am posting here because just the Sunday before some kids tried to grab me off my bike at a zebra crossing on clerkenwell road, ( I was on my way to yoga weirdly at 8.30am). So I am guessing that not only is my yoga practice totally cursed but also that things are getting even more vicious out there. Also, does anyone have any advice on the best way of locking up my bike when I get a new one. The lock I had was the one just under the forgetaboutit one in terms of strength. I chose that one because I thought it would be more versatile.

For anyone interested in B S johnson and the experimental writers of the sixties there is a major conference at in association with the Institute of advanced studies and the British Library in september.
It's amazing this is happening as up until recently it was nr impossible to get hold of his books or his films! -

I might read Lanark again. I'm between books. I generally read something light and disposable between books like Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut, but this time I ended up reading some essays by Camus.
If anyone can recommend something dark and funny, I'd appreciate it.
A writer I would recommend to anyone is B S Johnson.
Amazing - he has had three of books published in a trilogy, they feature two of his best Albert Angelo and Trawl.
but it worth getting the originals on Ebay, because the covers are amazing!

House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.
Without a doubt my favourite book. Literally terrifying and absurdly intelligently designed too.
I read this when I was a kid - I still think about it and try and explain it to others. so informative and gripping in many ways. I found that some bits were amazing ... but towards the ending. tut tut tut...
