I have just had this bike valued at £1300 (and told to insure for £1800) so grab yourself a bargain at £900 no offers.
yeah, the people who quoted the bike for 1300 were just politely saying:
"i dont want to offend you by saying your bike is actually worth fuck all - so I'll say its worth more than you think to take the piss"Jokes.

I'M POSTING THIS BIKE FOR A FRIEND SO WILL DO MY BEST ANSWERING ANY QUESTIONS :)
Selling a stunning vintage Raleigh Ti Team Professional racer, complete with all original parts and in good condition. Made in England in the 70s/80s this was a highly successful racing bike in it's day.
The 531c Reynolds frame is 64cm in size, the c stands for Competition, these were very expensive frames and the bike is specced equally well. It seems to be very low mileage with minimal wear to the cogs, pedals, rims, brakes etc. Everything feels solid and crisp and like the bike has had a very easy life. An identical bike in considerably worse condition and without pedals recently sold for £350 here
A highly collectable and beautiful British vintage racer that rides like a dream and will only increase in value. Lots of info on these can be found on google.
Components:
- Raleigh Ti 531c Frame
- Campagnolo Cranks + BB (hardly any wear on cogs, very low mileage)
- Campagnolo pedals
- Campagnolo Nuovo Record rear mech,
- Campagnolo front mech
- Campagnolo brakes, pads and levers
- Campagnolo Record hubs with Mavic GP4 rims - these are very light
- Tubular tyres, rear needs replacing, front could be used but should probably also be replaced
- Cinelli Stem
- Cinelli Criterium bars
- Campagnolo twin pin seat post
- Brown Iscaselle Tornado Saddle
- Campagnolo quick release wheel skewers
Overall condition is good, a few specs of rust and small scratches here and there but overall clean and very nice to look at, no dents and totally straight. The paint is still bright. There are a few small touchups on the frame where paint was scratched off but nothing serious and the bike looks great. The chrome rear chainstay has hardly any pitting and is nice and shiny. One of the pedal leather straps has a broken metal link, the pedals themselves are very good. Wheels run pretty true with good spoke tension, rear could do with new grease and they may benefit from a service before using the bike again. Bottom bracket, cranks, brakes & gears are perfect. Comes with Agu Sport bike bag with a neon yellow Avocet 30 speedo + cable, this needs new battery + fitting and a role of tub tape.
Inspection is very welcome, I live in Battersea, South London. I can email hi-res images on request.

Thanks for that Damo. Several mentions of Brick Lane @7.30 threw me off, I gather that is a feeder group. Just want clear clarification, as on the Cambridge ride there was debate until the last minute about what time we would start etc...I ended up waiting in brick lane for an hour which were rubbish.
I live in Wandsworth, are there any feeder groups I can hook up with?

it was a super ride, glad i had today to just sleep though (on my front as my ridiculous looking sunburnt back isn't liking contact with anything but after-sun) but i'm already looking forward to the oxford ride.

You'll be fine rob I did the brakless 48x16 couple of hills but nothing towards the end.
Just a side note I wouldnt recommend anyone else to do this as it's not safe or sensible blah blah blah.
I'm planning on riding 48x16 so thats good to hear. Was starting to get concerned with the few threads of people saying they would have to this ride geared.

Thanks really looking forward to it! Pardon me for asking a dumb question, where exactly does this ride start? The polo court in brick lane is not a familiar location....

Has anyone from the no coach list organised another form of transport and if so is there room for two stragglers?
