I hope he is driving back along the motorway one day, only to veer off and crash into a wasteland bit that isn't visible from the road, suffers a broken leg and unable to make his way back up the enbankment he decides to get shitfaced off wine, comes to the realisation that he will never be rescued and then pisses over the cowering body of a large (but mentally challenged) man but then feels really bad about it afterwards.

Linda McCartney food is terrible especially the sausages!
Quorn sausages are bland on thier own, but just like meat they miraculously change flavour when cooked in sauces and whatnot (honest, try it!) Cauldron are a million times better as said before though and making your own out of soya mince is even better again. Agreed on the hot dogs, they are lush :)

Jorge Luis Borges' Labyrinths
Recently found out about this guy, then his story The Library of Babel ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_library_of_babel ) and now I'm checking out all of his short stories and essays. Brilliant stuff so far!

does anyone have any experience of getting B&W films developed using a postal service? (mailing them to the processing lab)
ideally looking for somewhere cheap, not bothered for quick turnaround or anything?
A cheaper place than a lab would be to take it to a local university or art college and ask the photography students to dev it for you, it doesn't take long to do a b&w film at all and nobody does any real work at the start of term so they are less likely to say no. This also allows you the option of choosing the development for contrasts etc without the variable of a useless technician who doesn't know what a camera is.
Failing that, and I guess it's less of an option but still, b&w development is a piece of piss once you get the hang of it, and your own chemicals are an investment if you plan on doing a lot of b&w work.

For those of you without the resources/money/access to tarp and water-proof materials for bag making, what about buying a couple of IKEA bags, £1 each and big enough to cut up and get enough material for the lining/outer of a large messenger bag. It could work maybe? Even if the material was doubled up for extra piece of mind. I've been using IKEA bags for heavy items and laundry and in two years I've not had any of the bags degrade or break. Even the handles could be recycled as they are surprisingly strong.
IKEA's started doing smaller versions of the big blue bags now, so possible pannier bag liners?
I don't make bags, so if the suggestion is cack, sorry!
Can I bump this post to this thread?
I've started to use the large bag to line my sports holdall, it works a treat especially for containing my sweaty gi and keeping everything else in the bag dry and smell-free but also as the holdall isn't waterproof, it keeps a clean gi dry (the weather has been horrendous lately). I haven't made my bag from scratch but I'm certainly trying to improve on it to fit what I need them for. My next stop is to stitch a zip onto the Iiner and secure the liner into the bag permanently.

The XA range do have flashes, but often don't come with them if you buy off Ebay, they are fairly cheap though. As I said in my previous post, they aren't obtrusive to the camera either, they just make the body slightly wider as opposed to top mounted hotshoes on SLR's for example.
The difference between 22mm and 28mm is very little, and considering the compared prices..
The Amphibia, looks like a flashier case than the plain one I got with the Mariner, but from the looks of it, it's mostly cosmetic and the camera inside is separate to the sports finder on the case anyway. Give it a go if you can get one for cheap!

Nah no problem, I could discuss cameras for hours! (although I'm in work at the moment)
To be honest, there isn't much difference between the two, both have auto settings, similar lenses etc. Looking at the Flickr images for the MJU, it seems to give standard c41 a little vintage saturation but subtle, not as much as xpro does, but I'm yet to use the camera myself so I don't know any of the little quirks it may have. The XA2 is handy for different lighting situations as its internal lightmeter decides the shutter speeds, leaving you to simply set the ASA and focus (pretty much why I use it for redscale). The XA/XA1/XA2/XA3 cameras also have handy attachable flashes that don't affect the size of the camera drastically (a good choice for taking a camera on a night out). The XA first model is a rangefinder, and is a lot more expensive and desirable.

man the prices literally went from £1.99 to £30+ it's crazy!
Vivitar Mariner sounds like the ticket, does it still get the vignetting that the UW&S gets?
If it's the same lens then I would imagine it must do right?also what does this mean?
Yeah, you will get the vignetting with the Mariner, but as with the UW&S it depends mostly on the lighting that will give you from no vignetting to a more pronounced shadow.
As for redscale, I make a lot of home-made redscale film where you respool the film backwards into the canister and shoot your pictures through the back of the film, giving a red cast to the film. Not like a red filter though, there's a fair difference as depending on how far you push or pull the film you get different effects (My favourite is shooting 400 speed at 50/25). Here is a link to some of the redscale I've done:

I'm looking at getting the same camera for my redscale, best bet is to look at results people have got from it off Flickr and judge for yourself. The camera features seem quite good for the price and what it is.
I converted my Vivi UW&S to a pinhole camera not long before the prices shot up, so I got myself a Vivitar Mariner - Pretty much the same camera as the UW&S but considerably cheaper AND comes with a waterproof casing to shoot underwater! It has the same 28mm lens.

jesus I remember when a game came on a floppy disk lol
who remembers Apogee and Commander Keen?
Yes! The highlight of the week used to be going to Staples on a Sunday and buying one of the 'floppy' packs for a couple of quid. I had a tidy stack of these games years ago.
How about the Hugo games? Duke Nukem? Flight of the Amazon Queen? Thor God of Thunder? and there was a spy game I used to enjoy but I've forgotten what it was called.

Indeed, I'm currently rolling in a Koral Classic (Blue) that is serving me well and going to get a Koral Light (Black) soon. I had a look at the VT shorts, nice, not sure about the camo colour but I found these that I like:

No mediums anywhere though :(
They should add a few more years to the sentence just for wearing Ugg boots.
