Very sad to see this go but it's not getting ridden enough/i've done my back in/I'm moving to a smaller flat.
Seems like it's time to sell :(Dave Lloyd Concept 90 Reynolds 753
Seat Tube (ctt): 54cm
Top Tube (ctc): 53.5cmHere's what Hilary Stone has to say about it:
"Dave Lloyd’s Concept 90 frame introduced as the name suggests in 1990 with sloping top tube predates the Giant TCR frame by some six years but the reasoning behind the Concept 90 design is quite different. The Concept 90 sloping top tube design on the other hand was custom built (and silver brazed without lugs) to fit each rider. The sloping top tube was used to reduce the size of the main triangle and thus improve frame stiffness. The seat tube on the Concept 90 was quite normal in length – with a long extension above the top tube. It was only the rear end of the top tube that was dropped to meet the seat tube further down. And the rear stays were brought in to meet the seat tube at the height of the top tube. This was done in a clever and very stylish fashion with a wishbone arrangement for the seatstay top end – this design had been used on MTB frames but it was novel on a road frame then and looked exceptionally neat. The head tube height was quite conventional. Overall the result was a tremendous looking frame which was at the time quite original in appearance.
This frame is the one that was featured in Cycling Plus magazine 151 Design Classics"Shifters: Campagolo Record 8 Speed
Front Mech: Campagnolo Record
Rear Mech: Campagnolo Record/Chorus (was bought as Record, but I think it's Chorus - difficult to identify)
Cranks: Campagnolo Record
Rings: TA Vento
Brakes: Campagnolo Chorus
BB: Campagnolo Chorus
Wheels: Campanolo Shamal (1994)
Tyres: Continental GP4000S
Seatpost: Nitto Jaguar

Chain: SRAM PC 890 (I'm all for Powerlink)
Stem: 8cm 3TTT (I have the Cinelli XA stem that's in the picture if you want it)
Bars: 3TTT Grand Prix
SOLD WITHOUT PEDALSEverything is in excellent condition apart from the 3TTT bars which have a little bit of zig-zaging one side.
Groupset/Wheels are all roughly matched (script/shield era) and period but the BB, Tyres, Cables, Rings, Chain and Saddle are brand spanking new and have only done about 150 miles.A few more pictures: http://s787.photobucket.com/user/Jampster/library/

I've just bought something far too expensive, so its time to sell some stuff!
I'll be very sad to see the Simoncini go, but it just doesn't get ridden as much as it deserves
Simoncini 53x53 Bike
Simoncini 53x53 Frame Columbus SL Tubing (internal cable routing)
Campagnolo Mirage 8 speed groupset (inc hubs + headset)
Ambrosio Prisma Elite Rims
Selle Italia Titanium Flite
MKS Sylvan Pedals + Christophe Straps
The bike is in great condition, just a few very minor paint chips on the frame. Don't confuse the Mirage Campagnolo groupset for the plastic crap that passes for Mirage nowadays. It's mid 90s Mirage which is rock solid, before campagnolo started making the budget stuff...
All brake/gear inner/outer cables changed recently.
The two wheels are however slightly out of true - they were perfectly in true until i took them into pedal power in ipswich and asked them to tighten them up slightly, stupidly i didn't check the finished job until i noticed it riding home. I left for london the next day so they are still like this... rideable, but need sorting so I'm knocking off £20 for that
£380
Campagnolo Track Cranks 49t 165mm NEW

Collection from North London or St. Pauls (work)

Slightly confused by all this.. why would you bother with 1x10?
Sure you may only use 10 of the gears but if your going to all the hassle of a bashguard/chain retention and your already buying a set or ergo's, why not just run 2x10? At least that way you'll have the option to use them if you need and it'll cost about the same.
Seems bizarre to me.. and a well set up front derailleur will cause you no problems at all.

a few people on here, have gone over the bars in an emergency grabbing a handful of front brake, there are a few broken collar bones to prove it
I've done it before but this was before i learnt how to ride a bike properly. Its complete user-error, but if this is really an issue you could swap brakes like the americans. Certainly no justification for not having a front brake!
Not sure why anyone would want to ride with only a back brake though (fixed or otherwise), most of your stopping power is in the front brake.. I thought everyone liked going fast.

here we go...
1) http://www.sheldonbrown.com/speeds.html, for help identifying components have a look at velobase, they have alot of campagnolo catalogues
2) http://www.sheldonbrown.com/speeds.html, and yes presuming you want indexed shifting although if your thinking of 9 speed, you probably don't want downtube shifters (unless your mad).
3) It has a very small amount to do with it, the more gears you have the more crossed your chain can become. This requires a slightly larger derailluer cage to stop chain rub but is not an issue if you have enough trim (campag does)
4) A 10 speed will have a cassette not a freewheel and yes they are interchangable (but not to 8 speed and below)
5) no
6) ...
7) Determine the size? Length of cranks and number of teeth is entirely up to you. Your bottom bracket should match the cranks though, 102mm BB for 1995 record onwards, 111mm BB for C-Record...
8) Lots of thread on this...
Good Luck...

I've just finished putting together my new geared bike (soon to be in current projects..) and discovered I've got a fair amount of chain rub against the outer ring when in the smallest sprocket.
My chainline should be correct, I'm using a Campag 102mm BB with Campag script era (1995 onwards) cranks which i believe is right.
Both chain rings are modern 9/10 speed TA rings which if anything should be slightly thinner than an 8 speed ring (I doubt there is any difference...) and they are 39/50 so the spacing between them is actually quite small.
The chain is a SRAM 8 speed, which is the same width as a Campag 8 Speed (7.1mm) so this shouldn't be an issue...
Finally, the chain rub is worse is on the top side of the chain, suggesting it isn't a case of having the lower limit setup correct, at least i think thats the correct assumption! No idea whats up really, its not the most important gear ever.. but it is annoying. I suppose a 9 speed chain chain might solve the issue, but shouldn't really be necessary.
Any ideas? -

Hiya, Just looking for a few things to finish off a build...
