Yo,
Few bits for sale:
Campag cranks - bought them on here and unfortunately they didn't fit my frame, so had to buy some newer-schooler ones. A few bites on the inside, but nothing serious. I have taken off the mounting for the second spider (both included fit the outer), so these are for the Fixed Gear'ers! Offers please.
Campagnolo Chorus Bottom Bracket, English 102mm - bought this also for my frame which didn't fit. It is unused, apart from fitting to find out that the cranks wouldn't fit the frame.. i.e. it hasn't been ridden. Offers Please.
Halo Messenger Tyres, white, new. Offers please.
Tekra long drop rear brake. Offers please.
All for collection in Old Street, or I could drop off near.
Thanks dudes,
T

Some of you may have read my troubles over in the classifieds. I've just got my bike back from Holloway cycles - the dude in there was super helpful but second opinions are always useful.
Pictures don't really show millimetre spacing issues very well, but if you are a hawk: (I'm holding the crank/chainring about 5mm away from the chainstay as the BB is too short atm)
Mechanic says options are:
1) Longer BB, dish the wheel. He still looked pretty doubtful about this, and warned about dishing on the driveside etc.
2) New cranks (sugino messengers) and run the ring on the inside (really don't want to do this and would still involve spacing issues)
3) New hub which I can space further + dish it.
4) Longer BB and ride it loud and proud, with the chain coming off every time I pedal.
Running a Campag 102mm Chorus BB. The cranks are pretty oldschool campag track cranks. The chainring bolts are hitting the frame, and need at least 7mm more -
Opinions would be massively appreciated - I'm sure a good few of you have gone through this eye needling journey before. If you could list parts and lengths that would be sick also.
Beers all round.. Cheers,
T

Hey sorry guys - and wow, thanks for all the help.
I'll get it back from Holloway cycles (where the very nice and helpful mechanic has been trying to fix it) and take some pics and move this discussion to the bike fix forum. Sounds like with your help we'll get closer to solving this. There is no lack of want to get this up and running : )
The issue is money - I really don't want to buy new wheels or a new crankset. (I have an old campag crankset). Will post pics asap - I think i'll owe a few pints after this..
Thanks again - and shout hi if you see a green freddie grubb flying by soon.

So after over a month of part sourcing etc, I have (very depressingly) found out this frame has a chainline for gears, and not SS.
Totally gutted as I'm completely in love with it :'(
Bob Jackson renovation / respray. It is from the 60's I think but am not totally sure, has the original headbadge, made from 531 awesome etc, fancy lugs, campy dropouts etc. Collection/drop in Old Street area.
Size: seattube: 58 c-c or 59.5 c-t
toptube 56.5/57 c-cComes fitted with campag record headset.
£350 ono. (or a god to tell me how I can use this with SS). PM's either way, please.

Sorry for any ignorance - first build : )
So..
I have fitted some 700c wheels to an old freddie grubb frame, and have about an inch clearance gap. There are two problems with this:
1- I'd need to get super-deep-drop brakes (65mmish), which rules out all of the brakes I would like to buy.
2- The wheels don't fill out the frame which the slutty side of me doesn't enjoy.
2b- If i'm spending this much money I want to get it right : )
Am I running the wrong size wheels for the frame? What are my options here dudes? Is an inch clearance normal(ish)?
Any help much appreciated,
Tim
