I am looking for some parts for my mtb/street bike. I know this is a bit of a long shot on a fixie website, but still.. if you ride there is a chance.

I am looking for:

• SRAM 9sp rear derailleur preferably short cage, possibly medium suitable for a mountain bike.
  
• A chain guide.
  
• A 36 (or so) tooth chain ring..
  
  
  

Looking for as cheap as possible really..

Sorry yeah, he is about 6'1 so prob need something around 58-60 i guess, 60 might be a little on the big side. But i'm sure he'd cope. Beggars cant be choosers eh?!

My friend is looking for a geared bike to do Lands End to JOG. He is pretty new for cycling but wants to have something to train on and obviously to ride the event on.

Also he is a student and the budget is £250 with a little wiggle space.

Can anyone help.. Just something half decent to last him a year. £250-300 quid wont get you anywhere on the new bikes market, they are all a bag of spanners.
