The Silca crack pipe is only £7.95
Halfords special at £1.99 and money spare for a tasty beverage of choice...
Though the crack pipe does look the business.. ;)

I'm curious. How do you inflate a HED3 with a track pump?
Do you use a special vale to allow you to fix the large head of a track pump on that or what.
I realise this is a numpty question, but I've not owned a tri-spoke before and that hole just looks too small. My only ever experience of riding a disc or tri-spoke was borrowing someone else's for a TT and being blown all over the place.
You need a "crack pipe". First one is a Silca, second is a Hirame which I stumbled upon when searching for Hirame frames, $70 from http://www.benscycle.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4576&zenid=d2556c588ccf1861385021468b98236e WANT!!!
Could use one of those fabric extension things you get on the old cheap frame pumps.
On my HED3 the valve is actually angled out slightly so the attachment on my track pump has more than enough room to fit on the valve.
Will see if I can find a photo... -

eddie dolan never built for look but they still slapped their stickers on bikes he built for chris boardman
Who's the hell is Eddie Dolan? Terry Dolans brother?
I think there was some legal sponsorship wrangling regarding the Boardman frames, if I remember correctly Dolan built them and then Look took the measurements and remade them, due to Boardman having to ride these frames due to Credit Agricoles deal with Look.
The GT/Yamaguchi on the other hand no idea whats going on there...

Was fun, but damn cold!
Forgot to post on here before leaving home, I was pottling round on the light blue Hetchins, someone from the ride said 'Hi' when I was staring catatonic at the departure boards in Waterloo (he had lamp on his helmet anyone here?), sorry was too cold to respond with much more than a nod!Bednarz, nightmare with the flat!

http://www.londonfgss.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=15701&stc=1&d=1254264415Wow this thing is on ebay for £4450 buy it now, there is also option of best offer so I submitted a fair bid of £1.50p, its going to cost a bit to 'adjust' the colour scheme.

Can't see the pic Nebulus
He's just polishing it all up for an even 'satin(ish)' finish. I'd like to leave it raw metal but may look into trying to get some kind of off the shelf spray lacquer - failing that I'll just probably autosol it now n then. Do't want a clearcoat
Hopefully image and a couple of others fixed now....
I did the same to a Klein frame a little while back wanted the satin finish which I did using fine(ish) sanding blocks, tough to get the grain looking nice on all the tubes though, but I found Autosol just made it a bit too shiny so I bit the bullet and went for mirror finish all over.
Looks great but on an offroad frame its a damn dust and fingerprint magnet still easy to fix after 5mins with some polish, not that I can be bothered to do that after every ride!
The GT polished up much easier, maybe there is some difference in surface finishes between the 7000 and 9000 aluminium used in each frame...

BTW - has anyone here ridden a Hetchins? - do the stays make it a smother ride?
I've got a straight stayed track Hetchins, and my dad has a curly made within 6 months of each other in 1960 and almost exactly the same size. The curly feels as stiff as mine, but it does feel like there is more give when going over uneven roads, like its slightly suspended, its very subtle though.
The Hetchins you posted is brand new build would look nicer with less logos on the components, though a bit on the expensive side at just under a thousand quid, still its a custom hand built frame. Those curly lugs can't be cheap!
Hi All,
A good friend of mine is doing a fundraising ride this weekend from Birmingham to Paris in aid of Huntingtons disease. They lost a good friend to it a couple of years ago, and have been working hard ever since to raise awareness and funds.
This is a link to their justgiving page : http://www.justgiving.com/tour-de-blackett2/
and facebook: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Tour-De-Blackett-2-Birmingham-to-Paris/203018913044680
I know times are tough and pockets are light, but this great effort for a worthy cause!
I'm planning on riding with them on the Sunday on their way through London via High Wycombe, any forum folk very welcome to come along and join in, there will be a single speeder in the group, so he'll need your good wishes!. Message me for times, the plan is to be on London bridge for midday.
and as always HDFU
