Just an idea, why not do timed laps climbing/descending byker bank. Start at the shorter side, down up down up. Gear ratio would be completely up to th rider aswell

Rather than going straight to big companies why not go to local bike shops for prizes, surely a good way to boost the event and the shops rep. Posters in shop windows etc.
Previously the events have been kept to word of mouth and this forum, stick some posters in shops, pubs, streets and youll surely get a load more people down, maybe even get into double figures for racers!
