I'm writing an article for an independent magazine about female cyclists and would like to get some input and maybe an interview from some women on the forum.
Stuff like - what do you ride? why do you ride? do you feel that male cyclists don't take you seriously? what competitions/social events related to cycling do you take part in?...If you're interested then send me a message on here.
Also if anyone knows of any female cycling groups etc. let me know
Cheers

So it would appear that admitting i ride a unipack is forum suicide but I don't really care and if it means i don't get to join the "fixie elite" then all the better because riding is about having fun and getting away from all that bs!
Obviously the bike and components aren't top quality (the bottom bracket is shit and will only last a couple of weeks but it's easily replaced) but I wanted a cheap first bike that I could learn from, mess about with and customise.
I might be a newbie but so far I love riding fixed and joined this forum to speak to like minded people and learn a bit more about the bikes

Hi Ladies, I know it's been a while (day job commitments) but I'm finally finishing off this article and would love to get some input. I figured that the quickest and easiest way to do this was to post the questions on here and you can either reply with your answers on the forum or email them to me at zleadleywatkins@hotmail.co.uk . You don't have to answer all of them and you can remain anonymous but it would be nice to put a name, age, location and bike with the comments.
The article is about how I got into cycling myself, recent statistics on female cyclists and how I feel that we are under represented in the cycling world but that some women are starting to push down these barriers. Thanx again for all your help.
1) Why do you ride/cycle? (hobby/get fit/commute/compete/relax/fun...)
2) Do you see yourself as a 'cyclist' or a 'female cyclist'? and what does this mean to you?
3) Do others see you as a 'cyclist' or a 'female cyclist'? (include positive/negative examples)
4) What is your response to the press coverage of the 'rising' number of deaths of female cyclists?
