As a not-playing-that-much-polo-anymore-player the discussion about the reffing and the rules makes me think. We played a lot of games these two days, against many teams. None of the teams really played like dicks against us (For me, and only for me, I don't know what greg an robin think about this). /// Yes, sometimes I had to stay on my bike even after a dolphin tale on me and sometimes I had to be a dick because I felt cheated by a player so I decided to kick him off to show him what he did to me a few seconds before ///.
But I guess (and hope) that we, as Monseigneurs, weren't dicks and it's why no one played like asshole against us.I join woods about the "But I trully think it would be easier for everyone if players wouldn't play like dicks."
And I join jonno about the "Also, be the change you want to see". Not about the Hooks (especially because I didn't really saw their games because we were waiting for ours so I can't say for this tourney, I promise) But about every players. we can see too many players who shout at the ref right after they took a dolphin or whatever and be the biggest asshole when they want to score that last fucking goal that will save them from being out.
But, I'm not the better person to talk about it. I left Hooks because of this. Because of the bigs lasts games of every tournaments that weren't "bike polo" anymore for me. I miss so much what was bike polo before. Some good guys, often friends who used to play on and outside the court. I'm not a winner, I don't really mind winning or loosing, I just want to play good and fun games, like the epiphanie. this year was awesome for me. I wasn't even mad after loosing the final of the looser bracket (you all know it, even if it's a good game, you hate the team that made you out). Anyway, I don't know if it will help or anything, that's just my point of view. I'm not arguing or whatever. I saw real good games during this tournament, and some shitty move. The reffing was terrible the first day and way better for the lasts games. But still, if everyone started playing bike polo instead of trying to do anything hoping the ref won't see an "illegal action", it would be way better to watch and to play.
Woods is laughing reading this (Yep I can hear you :) ). -

Sorry, I'm a bit late but great week end. It was awesome. I've spent really good times with all my teammates and with all of those I've seen. It was really nice to see many players of the european community.
There are some points about the ref, or other stuff, but it didn't make me mad or something (maybe during the game yes, but still. When you're out of the court, it's over). So thank you John H, Bristol guys, Warin Family (you were all awesome), captain woods, the Sultans, and those guys I forget to thank.
Hope I'll see you soon. I'll try to make it to the london open, but I'm not sure (money, girlfriend, etc.. :) ).
See you all as soon as I can !
Cheers. -
Check your roaming data charges with your operator, I was in Barcelona last week and it was only £1.99 for a day of data roaming. This is because of an EU rule which was passed (or came into effect) late last year which makes roaming charges a lot cheaper. Receiving and making calls in Barcelona was 50p connection charge with 60 free minutes.
Thanks, I'll have a look.

Thank you all, I had a look at the links you gave me.
About the bike, we'll see how we organize our week end. But we'll maybe be bike free on saturday and see if we can borrow bikes on sunday. Again, not sure, because she's not a big rider and it can be stressfull in london (you already ride in reverse)).Again, thanks for the links. And about the bikes, if we're sure to borrow before leaving i'll tell you here (and if there are some bike still available we'll borrow them). And if we decide it on saturday, I'll tell you and, same thing.. only borrow if there are some still available.
Thank you so much everybody !

Thank you Todd (or Todd ? I don't know anymore) :)
If we can borrow you two bikes it would be easier than take one from Brendanrupert and gormley :) I'll keep you posted.
And thank for the informations. I'll find a way to see some of you if possible (but this is a "no bike polo week end", I've signed a paper). -

Thanks guys :)
@skoota > I'll need your email
@ gormley > I think 56 will be just good. I ride a 56 and she's a bit smaller
@coventry eagle > I won't but I'll spend my time with her, not with a bike polo ball :)
@dublinkevin > Thank you, I'll keep that name and have a look. -

Hi guys
I'll be in london with my girlfriend for three days (from saturday 13 to monday 15). We'll stay in an Hotel near Kensington Gardens (central park hotel).
I have a few questions :
will there be some cool events this week end ? (gigs, exhibitions, etc..)
wich places have to be seen. (works for restaurant, pub, etc..)
Do you guys think we could, maybe, I don't know, borrow two bikes.. :) Just in case. i'm not sure but, if yes I can bring lock. She rides, but we're looking for smooth bikes :) you know just to ride like two lovers everybody will hate.
I'm not sure that we'll need them but I'm asking in case of.NO, I won't play polo, sorry :) (yep I know, that's not a question).
Cheers, thank you in advance.

The reffing was one of the main highlights for me.
Ha hate so much the "team who win has to ref" and I'm not the only one. So we invited people who wanted to ref the game. Glad Woods imagined the present for volunters. It works with the epiphanie's gift system.
We need to make it happen as much as we can. Players can't ref games if they play a tournament, it's too difficult for the body and the mind.

I got old Greg's frame (EHBPC, beta-Victoire). Quite good, a little toe-overlap but it's OK.
Thanks everyone who came. As usual, it's good to see english teams I really like.
It was a great tournament, loved to organize it, and loved to win it for the second time hahah :)And for me, Quentin as MVP. He was amazing all along.
