Hi to you all out there. Can anyone point me in the direction of spacers for behind my fixed sprockets .
I am guessing that they are going to have an internal diameter of 33.7mm,the hub is a Miche Primato.
The45Rooster(from L'pool) AKA The Cycling Rooster is back on Fixed Wheel after a 46 year abstention. The bike is kitted out with a "Fail Safe" rear brake as well as the obligatory front brake.
I have built up a 49cm Fuji Track Frame with Mavic CXP33 rims on Miche Primato hubs and a 52T Stronglight Chainring on 140mm crank arms.
Hopefully my next communication does not come via a lap-top from a hospital bed. -

Does anyone know if this saddle actually came out? I think it was a Selle Italia, and at a trade show or something. It makes my Stripped SLR look positively sluggish.
Yes.Another Unwanted Item On E'bay!.Wow,You could give An Itchy Arse a Right Raking with that!,couldn't you just?.Nice Seat Pillar & Very Neat Adjustment Mechanism.
Maybe the surface is to stop sliding around happening!;whilst bare-arsed. -
The attention to detail on the Head Badge(Screw Slots lined up on the Black Machine) is wasted on crappy screws. The heads should have been Anodised Blue or Gold & Countersunk Raised Head style. The tape would have looked better in the colour of the rims, otherwise an interesting bit of transport .Is that a Brookes Swallow copy I see perched on the seat post?.Happy & Safe Riding to You All.

Hi to you all out there and inparticular to cliveo.Cliveo I am somewhat disappointed to not see that you have seen the error of your ways and invested in Traditional Pedals with Toeclips and Straps and Nail On Plates. If your insurers find out that you have replaced your worn out cleats for the same system they may consider you negligent in your own safety and contributory when it happens again,AND IT WILL.With the old system security on the pedals was a vertual guarantee and even without plates but strapped in the feet could still be removed if required.Happy & Safe Riding to you All.To you inparticular:-cliveo.

Hi to you all,I have spoken with the chap that now owns this Exquisite Piece of History. It would appear to be a quite genuine Hetchins Frame,Indeed a Magnum Opus.Only for the fact it is to large a frame for my little legs to propel I would be making an offer that he would be hard pushed to ignore.Lets see if some of your Carbon Framed offerings of today will still command the money this one will,25-29yrs after they are made;if they are still around.

Hetchins Curly (Known correctly as The Vibrant Triangle) were most certainly not the mid 20th Century equivalent of the Modern Day oversized carbon frames .I have had in the early 60's( and stupidly sold a 1937 Hetchins Curly Track Frame. It was a 19&1/2" frame built for specific track use and used on the track. In the early days at Herne Hill and later at Fallowfield- Manchester & Bootle Stadium-Liverpool.It was later altered to road drop outs anb rebuilt with the good gear of the day. They were built with beautiful lines/tight geometry and ridden by some of the best.As with the one in the lead #1 submission when finished with 3/4 Chromed Stays & Full Chromed Front Forks they were STUNNING.No amount of fancy paint work can disguise an over engineered carbon frame irrespective of whose name is on it.Look into The Hetchins web site and SALIVATE.Happy and Safe Riding whatever your steed may be.My current joy is a Nice Little Italian.

Hi to you all.I don't know what all this CRAP is about.Paying stupid money for modern shoes in the name of all of the GUFF that is dished out in your direction to get you to part with your hard earned or otherwise obtained pennies. You don't know what comfort & quality is untill you have worn and still have after 30+yrs Vittoria & Vega Italian Perforated Leather Cycling Shoes.Oh and complete with nail on plates they only weigh 45gms more than my partners modern shoes with cleats fitted.

Hi to you all,Yes it's me again with an insignificant pearl of wisdom.Clive, sorry to hear of your Lack, in DUTY OF CARE to YOURSELF.It does not happen with Berthet Lyotard Platforms-Christophe Toe Clips & Christophe Straps.I have the option of switching from Cleats, etc to my Vittoria Perforated Leather Shoes and the old way of fastening myself to my steeds. The Vittoria Shoes etc win hands down every time.I have created float with my nail on plates to keep my new knee happy and my old buggered one(replacement pending)comfortable. In 48yrs of antics on two wheels(Strapped In) iv'e only failed twice to date to free myself, once in 1962 when some twat of a coach driver shoved me into tram lines outside Lime St Station,Liverpool and once on the track at Bootle Stadium,Liverpool when playing silly buggers in the wet.Happy & Safe Riding To You All,and in particular to Clive.

In response to CB #99.Not being brave enough to jump reds does not come into it.I have too much respect for the effort my Mother & Father invested in my formative years and for the skill & knowledge of the medical profession that finally got me on my feet and walking at age 7yrs.This has made it possible for me to look back on some of the plonkers that I know(new-past tense:-deceased)who did not have any regard for any aspect of their risky pastimes. As for not being brave enough to swear,Excuse me,I was brought up in one of the "hardest" parts of Liverpool, where the power and content of your ability to F & Blind was often a precursor to dishing some ones already ugly face in- with a Knuckle Duster.I was saved from a life of crime by a good education, and the knowledge of easier ways of earning money than playing Tick with Hatchets, and constantly looking over my shoulder.Coupled to that, the ability to to tell someone to go away in short jerks without failing my educational achievements, helps considerably to keep my 64yr old body moving in the direction of becoming a Centenarian Cyclist.Happy & Safe Cycling to you all.

Hi to the responsible among us.Having read the:-Stopped by The Police thread a few minutes ago and further to my input #83.It strikes me that rounding up all of the offenders of the RED LIGHT RODEO on a regular basis and force them to ride head on into remote controlled cars on a RING-FENCED CIRCUIT of a one lane only; might just help clear some of the dust from their woodworm infested brains. If any are lucky to survive;the roads are then made safer by having lost the luckless ones and SCARING THE *i out of the few survivers.

Hi to you all -and in particular to those of you that don't add to the SH*T name that cyclists sometimes have to endure.A word of caution from an old sod to all of you that risk your necks running red lights.I hope the Copper that stops you- does not stop you DEAD; literally;underneath the car.It strikes me some of you are the lucky ba**tards that survived the railway line & pedestrian crossing Chicken Bets when you were little children, and later as immature and irresponsible young adults. You still have no respect for the real potential victim!!;the one that you choose to dice with, or for that matter any understanding of the effects on that poor sod if they are successful in ONE STRIKE & YOUR DEAD.

Hi to you all,the notion that you bought it,wore it-so you must be happy with it!(otherwise you would have complained before now, does not wash-pardon the pun!)is a load of BOOCKS.You no the score, you see an attractive potential mate(male/female-whichever your choice in life),date it,connect with it,be "very happy with your choice",untill the need to visit the STD clinic.Enough said???.Oh,by the way it has not happened to me from either perspective,Lucky little bue*.Hit the sod were it hurts,in the test*cl*s & the pocket-through the various cycle forums.

First a foremost make yourself very very visible with an unmissible jersey,HIGH VIS Green.Screaming Yellow or for the more fashionable one of those really obvious PINK or LILAC numbers.Observe this firstly and then you have a concrete case to scream ARE YOU BL*ODY BLIND,PR**K.Make sure your ears are not bunged up with wax,or for that matter your iPod earphones.Your ears are the equivalent of you having EYES IN YOUR *RSE.But on a more serious note a rock solid petition to your local MP from cyclists in each region in the country about the state of the roads, just for the record some of the cycle specific paths & marked lanes are just as bad. This could be set up on LF-G&SS by the powers that be for the unity of clout.
-
I am not going to suggest any other rubber, but simply to ask,are you an overpaid city slicker ?,or do you just have money to burn?.Why not try some well worn caste offs from us poorer people(cycling pensioners),It is not my intention to deprive Hippy of any potential sales, but, I will sell you mine for £1.00 each, that way you will get the thrill without the punishment and you could donate the difference to the cycling Pensioners Benevolent Fund.In the meantime HAVE FUN !!!!??.

Hi to you all. This double toe strap notion is a resurrected relic from the past.Like the FIXATION with FIXIE(Fixed Wheel),it was a Track & Time Trail notion to overcome slipping straps, often caused by the PUSH-PULL associated with the real power merchants and the use of BIG GEARS on the track. It is likely to become a serious fashion fad/money spinner. All it will take,if not already in the pipeline is for somebody with more money then me to take it to China and have a Zillion made for not a lot of Wonga. If you want to have the full outfit go for some Lyotard Platform Pedals;they have a flip lip on the back edge, for rapid engagement,Traditional Shoes(Vittoria,Vega or similar with nail/screw on aluminium plates.Oh,by the way, being strapped in with a single strap is scarey, in a panic situation double is almost certain to cause a change of underwear & a hose down at the nearest garage!!.

Hi chickin. If you mean Roscoe Street,Liverpool. It is actually 20miles from where I live.
I am going into the City in a week or so,I will check it out.
My reference to L'pool in my forum ID is because I was born there in September of 1945. Yes I am an old sod & probably the direct result of my father coming home from The Middle East for Christmas leave 1944 and New Year celebrations for 1945.
