Hey all,
I fucked up and placed a bid that I didn't quite think through on eBay.
Turns out that grossly underestimated the cost of shipping to the DK. (and probably also misjudged my required frame size for mtbs, but that's another story)So... the item in question is a Kona Hahanna frame w/ suspension forks, stem, bars grips and brakes. I won it at the ridiculous sum of 28 squid, and UK shipping will be a measly 12 squid.
I was going to convert it to singlespeed, which I think it would be perfect for; legendary Kona geometry and all.
All in all 40 pounds for a great retro mtb frameset + parts.Kona Hahanna Retro MTB Frame and parts
Kona Butted Cromoloy frame.
16” Bottom bracket to centre of top tube.Team 280 Series RST suspension forks 1 1/8" threaded steerer.
Tektro V-Brakes and Levers
Shimano Acera X front Mech.
Steel quill stem and steel riser handlebars
Gripshift SRAM MRX 200-70 for the rear changer.
Shimano Revoshift for the front changerFrame is used and can be used as spares or rebuilt. All that is needed for a complete bike is a bottom bracket, chainset, pedals a rear mech and pair of wheels with tyres and a cassette.
Looks like one of the bottle bosses on the seat tube has been dunted, deforming the shape of the tube slightly.EBAY LINK w/ pics:

Now its my all time favourate saddle. Like sitting on a walnut for the first 5 minutes of a ride, but after that its perfect. I spend much more time seated when riding fixed too, so something most be right. I read somewhere that its based on the flite, so maybe I should look into getting one of them at some point (that saddle^^ is no longer produced :( )hey, i've got that one too. +1
although, the arione would be my second pick. the sheer length of it makes it easy to experiment with where you want to be fore-aft wise while riding. -
the triobike is shit, don't get it. it's a combined bike, child carrier and hybrid. This means that none of them will work very well.
Christiania bikes on the other hand, one of the best cargo bikes I've ever ridden. I hear that the bilenkys may be better, but for fragile cargo (young'uns), i'd prefer two wheels up front.
Or consider the Long John, those things are fucking indestructible. -

I did almost the exact same thing, only instead of landing on the beer I landed on my shoulder and both dislocated and broke it.
Also got a black eye, which puzzled me, since i didn't notice landing on my face.
I was going to illustrate it, but it seems a bit redundant now.At least I learned how to set a dislocated shoulder, albeit I learned the hard way. I reckon it served to H me TFU.

^^ripper crust: so nice to see some IFA tubing on here. when i was a little rotzlöffel, i was dreaming of a road bike like this to go fast like Olaf Ludwig ;)
do you have more pics of your build (taking its your actual ride that is)?I do, I do, http://velospace.org/node/16662.
It's going up for sale though, as I just bought a romani, and can't afford to keep both.
Package should be coming through the door any minute! -
