hi foodies, i have no oven for christmas but 2 hobs and a microwave. I want to cook something banging, i guess it’ll be some kind of stew or a stew and a something else, in addition to yummy veggies and salad. I’m in s spain. there’s amazing produce. i don’t want to hold back. my policy is to not buy meat or fish but I might be persuaded if someone comes with something, persuasive. I was thinking something cooked in booze, or insane quantities of garlic, or something saffrony. was going to get some killer goats cheese (peyoyo) and delicious wine

wtb nano are good perhaps even great tyres. wtb quality control is a bit shit though, I have seen 4 or 5 wtb tyres that have cracked every where or bulged this year. see if you can find some tried and tested second hand ones and you’ll be grand. I actually have one on the front I could sell if you found a second? they come up a lot here as people upgrade to bigger and balder tyres as is the trend

I was so gutted when I read this, couldn’t bring my self to post. I rely on LFGSS. It’s sort of a crutch in a few different ways. This, on one level, is sort of sad really but it is also remarkable and lovely. It is a good opportunity to say thank you to Velocio for all that they have done, LFGSS is a wonder of the world.
It is so amazing to read there are options for going forward. I was wondering about university and college ‘moodle’ sites. These might work as a format for the forum (for lots of reasons), but obviously the key thing would be they would need an institution to host and enrol the members. It might work in the guise of a ‘practice-based’ research project, which is a thing at my uni in the english, anthropology and art departments. Perhaps this is a shit idea, a result of desperation. Well, anyway. Thanks to @Velocio and everyone on here who’s been so bloody nice.

righto, i'll peer at it in the light tomorrow. does the fluid, which I assume is for a hydraulic system, also in some way a lubricant for the bearings? is it a total no no to get fluids/oils/wd40 on the belt?

this seemed to be the right ballpark. I think I need @lynx to help me. How bad is it if the bearings in th PAS are fucked. could it cause catastrophy. Is there anyway to cheekily get lube into the place that needs it without taking apart or replacing?

Hi! It's a relatively new belt and should be under proper tension but not sure if that also means pulley and so on are recently serviced.... Actually I think it may be the AUX belt, perhaps explains the relation between the PAS pump and the belt, sorry!

it seems like everything- my timing belt and something to do with my power steering especially -squeaks like a bastard in my old banger. Should I be concerned, it settles down after a drive but returns and has got incrementally worse

sorry to spam! I bought a tyre on ebay for a trip and it looks unlikely that it will turn up in time. I need an all mountain type, high volume tyre for the rear a bit urgently and would very much prefer to only pay a small amount of money, or borrow, or in some other way appropriate the tyre. My ideal tyre would be a hutchinson griffus team 2.4 and I think anything too fast rolling, like a Fast Track, would get me into trouble. I’m in Camberwell, thanks!
