what he said.....^
the frames do exist, I had 62 that came with the original bill of sale and vitus guarantee...he'd bought it and then been hit by a lorry so it sat in the cupboard for 15 years. It was like riding one of those clothes dryers made out of 6mm steel wire. Very Nice to look at... not so nice to ride.
If you want a frame that big, go steel.

Clean as a whistle, no Dings or dents (paint nicked in a few places) Rides really nicely. It had one owner before me, It's in great condition for its age (1982) need to pay for boat stuff otherwise wouldn't be selling it (its a good stick!)I'd like £340 or near offers, I could split it and get more tho it's been like this since it was new and that would be a shame.
Its a lovely bike and it needs a new owner.

Thanks JimJam...I was amazed...I had always heard that they were amazing...tho no...fucking awful...
Let me add.....
I know if I had thrown half of that money at Mario Vaz...
It would be f*cking amazing...
I'm still burning about it, If I hadn't been phoning on behalf of the people I'm currently building for I would have told him to fuck right off...
He wasn't even willing to discuss his utterly shockingly bad attempt at refinishing or the standard that was lacking...
He is a fucking clown...with an ego larger than his talent...
Avoid at all costs.

I have just received a frame back from 'The Rude Defensive Manker'...
Just to say the standard of refinishing is shite...He has put a very thin layer of primer that barely covers the imperfections in the frame tubes which ultimately should have at least enough primer on to cover the imperfections in the tube...ie,...the marks left from the sand blasting medium...which is hasn't...the file marks around the dropouts and the chain stays and the rust speckles around the seat cluster haven't been filled either...all in all the work is BAD...and not becoming of the reputation that this Company have got...
The top coat is ok, and the varnish coat is ok...tho there is a fingerprint in the top coat that shouldn't be there that is now trapped under the varnish... tho to be honest this paint job and fork build cost nearly £650 ...
The forks had both blades replaced and the chamfer that meets the dropouts is different on each fork, the chroming is very poor as it is back to the braze colour on the underside of the crown, and on one of the blades it has marks halfway down the blade where the copper under the chrome hasn't been polished properly, also where the pantograph is on the shoulder of the crown it also has a strip of imperfections which is also under the chrome, also proving that the prep work has been particularly shoddy.
This clown uses his reputation and works on the premise that the people that use his service know absolutely nothing about painting or refinishing...
I have just tried to phone him to discuss any aspects of the work and he was incredibly rude, to the point of being ridiculous...
He had this frame for 4 months...??????????????
I was making this call on behalf of a customer and to be honest wish I hadn't ...
This Company are shysters... and If I ever could recommend paint I would send them to Mercian or Bob Jackson, and actually get a job back that is worth the nmoney that was paid...
And not the Kings new clothes, stitched together by a particularly untalented retard that cannot discuss his work without totally losing the plot...

this............../\ /\ /\ /\ /...
If you can get someone to take any pictures of skid marks (on road...sorry...;D...) then get them to go now...you'd be amazed at how quick rubber disappears from the road...especially busy ones like the island he t boned you at...new van..? can you remember the number? any thing on the side...? normal or hi top?

hey Peeps,
I need a campag 8 speed cassette. 90's spline config. I don't even need a whole one...;D ...just the high gears, I need anything from 17 teeth downwards to about 12? these cassettes aren't fixed together so you can swap the ratios.
Please give me a shout as it's sort of urgent...I'd like to recycle an old one and give the money to someone than a shop, rather than fork out on a new one just for 2 sprockets...many thanks !!! oh7946oh26785 -

In the seventies cycle docs about the roubaix, 'a sunday in hell' and the 74 tour, 'stars and water carriers' there is a lovely bit where the brooklyn team are riding out to loosen up before the day kicks of proper, and it's really bright, the spokes are catching the sun, and all you can hear is the whir and click of freshly prepared Gios...and birdsong...ahhhh we'd best start paying attention people...the birdsong is being endangered...
It's dependent on the surroundings..if I'm in london and its normal...just thinking to stay alive...if its really early...ie I sometimes go out at 5 am just as the sun's breaking then you have time to Zen out...that when cycling really does become something special...when you have a cool fresh sunny morning and can put a few miles in then you can really zone out...I love it when you have done maybe 5 -10 miles and it's not really registered, you have just been in there...the zone...;D...
the dunwich is coming up... -
Gridds!!!
thanks for Steve, and John and Yoko...
Steve had had an incredible life before he became famous...he'd had a terrible childhood having grown up the Boystown childrens homes of Nebraska...(later being famous for hideous abuse and kidnapping, trafficking, and I'll stop there if anyone is further interested check out the Franklin scandal) As part of the rider on any of the films he did, he would have written into his contract that any of the clothes sponsors ie Levi's etc would supply him with an extra 200 pairs of everything which he would give the the kids in the hostels, and would visit to give them pep talk about being able to escape and make something of their lives...
When filming the Magnificent & he had a run in with Yul Bryner who thought he was the 'star'...tho Steve made him look like a twat when riding the horses and firing guns...and pretty much everything else....Yul decided he wanted a fight and on squaring up to Steve...Steve said just one thing that changed his mind..and after that the pecking order was established and not spoken about again..."I've had my nose broken 7 times Yul,...first time when I was 10...I'm ready for another...how about you?"It's always made me smile..I don't like violence, tho that says it all.

Hey My Sweets...
I have a lovely Ladies (or Anyones for that matter) 90's Dutch Town bike for sale. A wonderful shade of metallic purple (with black bits) and has dutch dealer sticker on top downtube. It's in good nick and has the following specs...
:Large Frame (suitable for 5'4' upwards possibly smaller peeps tho )
:5 Speed internal hub with coaster brake (Sachs torpedo)
:Ofmega Cranks (loads of life left on teeth)
:New brake pads
:Mudguards, Rack, And Basket (has a charging dynamo if you add the lights, the wires are there and long enough)
:Rides really nicely and you can ditch weekend lycra boys if you so wish.
:Considering it's a tank, it's pretty light for what it is.http://i.imgur.com/rlaeRo1.jpg
I've had a good look round it and apart from needing a new rear tyre in a few months you won't need to do anything for at least 5 hunerd miles (as long as you don't do mad skids) the gears select well and the coaster brake still has loads of bite. The front tyre is a randonneur with loads of life the rear isn't it's a white wall with a good few months in it.
I have manage to get imgur working so I can post pictures!!I'd like £100 please...ono...tho it's worth that all day long. I'd like to try to give the forum some money rather that give stuff away and be unable to. Please call me on oh7946oh26785

Hey Baba...I have a bunch of problems...Lets not even go there, ok...;D?
And Dan...The Bro joke sort of falls flat when you are neither bro nor biatch...capisce?
Here's to you selling your bike, this time buy something that's steel, with brakes and the correct gearing...and then it won't be a flash in the pan romance...that leaves the bad taste of crabon in your mouth, and you will start a torrid and healthy marriage with a bike you love and cherish for many a year, thats comfy, springy, easy to ride...easy to stop, etc etc etc...
tho If you'd like to shell out on a coffee then I'd love to, I could even help you build (or build it for you) that new steel bike you are after?
Saying that...this is still a sale thread for a race ready Carbon track bike.

I can't believe people seriously considering riding in LONDON (my friend the cyclist death capital of the world)...without brakes...WTF? Are you that desperate to look 'trendy'...(arrrf I lurve that word....) Yes...TRENDY,....
That you would ride 49/14...brakless...crabon bike...and then moan that it's a cunt to ride...''God...its a bit harsh...and its really stiff to pedal...the fuckers killing my knees''...strange that all the old blokes that have been riding 'fixies' for training for 30 years haven't killed their knees..and I wonder, maybe cause they aren't stopping and starting all the time using the cog as a brake...
Oh ...well...
Bump!!!
£300..or something close? I really don't like splitting bikes...
