Figured it was worth a shot:
I live in Denmark, but am considering buying a 2010 Specialized Langster on sale in UK, but no bike shop in the UK will ship this brand outside UK due to agreement with Specialized....sigh.
Soooo, should anyone happen to be travelling to Denmark soon to bring it along, or able to help with reasonable shipping somehow, I would certainly appreciate it and contribute with several Carlsbergs :-)

OK, I am starting to sense it would be just easier to get the Miche BB.
BUT, being either stubborn or plain annoying (take your pick) I cannot let the issue go, and have researched (even more) to find the following options:
Any Campa BB (Chorus and more) 102 mm. Several on this forum seem to have struck perfect chainline with a 120 mm hub and this combo. However, I do not understand how this can be the case, if the Miche bb is 107 mm, and gives many of perfect chainline as well?
White Industries 68 x 108 - ISO Taper BB $108.00. This is apparantly a special order for Bens cycles, aimed at the Sugino 75 crowd, looking for a sealed bearing. But being close to the Miches 107 mm it sounds ideal as well?
Phil Wood Stainless Campagnolo Bottom Bracket - 68 x 108 mm. Pricy, but again sounds appropriate?
STRONGLIGHT SBBA, 68 x 107 mm. at exactly the same dimension as the Miche BB and a 50 GBP pricetag this is sounding more and more ideal?
Thanks for your patience with me, and hey GA2G, do you have any openings for list obsessed people? This could turn into the 'list of possible BBs for Miche Advanced instead of the Miche BB'!

Guys, bear with this newbie, I am REALLY trying to understand this, and have surfed the web and read the transmission database many times by now.
I am set on the Miche advanced cranks, and have ordered them. Now need to order a BB.
As I understand it, I need a BB that is:
- ISO - square taper , 68mm / English thread
So far so good. But the thing that puzzles me is the axle lenght.
From reading the transmission database, people are using BBs with various lenghts, and I would think the 107 mm suggested by the Miche BB is the 'optimal'?
BTW: I will be using with 120 mm rear hub.
So, the alternatives as I understand them:
Miche BB, ISO, 107 mm
Shimano UN54, ISO, 107 or 110 mm
Campagnolo Centaur 111mm
Campa Chorus (Double tapered?) 102 mm
Campa record Pista 111 mm (Assymetrical?)Any other BBs to consider? and again, why would I go for a UN54 that was 110, rather than 107? (As I see some people are doing)
Thanks for your help in advance
Cheers, M

Hi guys,
I have finally decided for the Miche Advanced cranks, and am now trying to choose a BB. Based on older threads (yes, I have searched ;-) - it would seem a wise/hassle free choice is a Shimano UN-73, or a Compag Centaur.
Would you agree on one of these two as a safe bet? (Price less importat than hassle free-ness)
Also, if you had to choose, which one of the two would you choose?
Frame is a Dolan FXE
TIA, Mads

Thanks guys, for the advice.
Its certainly something to consider, the Fuji. Tempting, but I figured I would jump straight to the upgrading part and get the right components from the beginning? Hence getting a frame first?
Hmm, will do some pondering. Also, I am in doubt regarding mudguards. I will need them, but guessing I could manage without the full type ones as the Fuji doesnt have the eyelets (or clearance?)

Bear with me, newbie alert - Having spent much time trawling through posts researching for my first (fixed) bike, I am starting to understand that the parts on standard/OTP bikes are not optimal (or adequate for that matter)...
So, I have a few frames in mind, but will need to buy parts for it - what parts do you think represent best value for money?
(Background on me: I am 1,93 cm tall, weight 85 kilo and plan to use the bike mostly for commuting 11 miles daily)
I understand insanely great parts will cost gazillions, but am ready to spend a bit to get some good parts, or the ones you feel offer the best value for money.
Finally, are there any parts, for instance rims, that makes better sense to buy used, and some parts one should never buy used?

Lend would be excellent, and actually even better. Do you happen to have one I could borrow/rent?
