My bottom bracket is seized on. Searching on this forum with my good eye closed i have found loads about soaking in plusgas. Know it sounds daft but how do you do that?! Like, what recepticle would i use and can you get plusgas in a non-spray can?
Also, is it better than wd40 or gt85? Is there anything better than plusgas?

Yo fools,
I am promoting riding bikemachines in work to try and get my colleagues to leave the stinking horrible tube and bus behind them and embrace the chaos and beauty of travelling to work by bike.
I am interviewing some people who currently ride in and one person who walks in. I have got the following boring questions but I feel to make it a bit more interesting I wanted to ask some more good questions. That's where you lot come in. Can anyone think of any good (CLEAN!) questions to ask people that will invoke funny/interesting answers. I work with some sound people and the ones who ride are good behind the camera but a catalyst question or two is always a good place to spark someone's personality off!
Existing questions...
What’s your name/team?
How long does it take you to cycle/walk and how long would it take you on public transport?
Is this the reason why you walk/cycle?!
How much money do you save if you don’t mind me asking?
Why would you recommend walking/cycling?
What would you say to the haters out there saying it’s dangerous/too far?!
What is the most unusual/interesting thing that has happened to you whilst walking or on your bike?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE

So basically a mate gives me a wheel with fixed/free hub. Altho he has suicide fixed one side and fixed and lokring the udder. Want to put freewheel on one side. Both sprockets are threadlocked on. Firstly, can you put freewheel on fixed side of hub? Just in case that's the only cog i can get off!! Secondly how the bloody hell do u remove threadlocked cogs?!?! I have tried skidding it off (both sides individually) going WELL fast but they dont shift. Is a block of wood and a vice any more likely to work? I'd say the torque from me skidding is more than the old vice trick? Experience? Or any better ideas?! Thank you

Hi there all,
I posted a thread about promoting cycling in my workplace (I work in the facilities dept of a large kid's charity in Clerkenwell) on this forum a few months ago and had a great response. One idea I had was hiring say 4-5 bikes for a week from gocycle or similar and then having employees use the bike to get home and back one night of the week, do a rota system that kind of thing. The idea being that, as we all know - once you just bloody do it and try and commute by bike you realise how horrible and unpleasant public transport is and how awesome cycling is and go out that weekend and buy a bike! Yes yes we will have more wobbling numpties on the roads undertaking you and swerving in front of you at traffic lights here and there but we are all in this together, one more wobbling numpty is one more healthy, happy, non polluting person right?! And they won't ALWAYS be a wobbling numpty will they?
So, what I wanted to know basically is does anyone know of or run any other good cycle hire places in London.
The second and bigger question was about liability and the legal side of things. Are we, as an employer, liable for the person's safety seeing as we lent them the bike? Do we get them to sign disclaimers or is this a bit over the top? Any legal advice ion what we should and shouldn't do along with giving them the bike would be really appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Thanks everyone, this is really useful stuff. And RHB I can imagine the olympics would make you jump through their hoops (aha - a pun!) although if w did it off the record I'm pretty sure we could do what the hell we wanted to! Just piggy backing onto it basically in the way that PR people piggy back on special days in order to launch/sell their products (a long time ago I used to work in PR I'm afraid - thank god i dont anymore...!)

Yo forumengers,
I work for the Facilities Management department at a very well known children's charity headquarters in Clerkenwell – we are an office of about 200 people. The problem we have is that only a handful of us (15 ish) cycle to work, I'm sure lots of you can identify with this....!
We are looking at ways to engage staff in wellbeing and green issues generally in 2012 and part of this will be promoting cycling to work. We are thinking of getting involved with bike week in June 2012 (http://www.bikeweek.org.uk/) to encourage and empower employees in this.
Climate change and the effects of it is something that affects children more acutely than any other group of people, it's strange because people don't seem to make the obvious link between helping kids in their daily jobs and helping them in the way they treat the planet - hey, we're not all perfect right? I'm definitely not...!
As an avid cyclist myself I am taking a lead on how we can capitalise on bike week and need some ideas to start me off. I thought you’d be amongst the best people to ask! It really is a blank sheet to be honest at the moment, I am thinking maybe speak to TFL or another provider about cycling proficiency classes and also maybe a local bike shop do bike repairs (maybe even for free?!).
What would you do if you were promoting it in your offices - large or small?
Do the Olympics offer an opportunity too?!
Thinking of the barriers that stop people riding to work I am guessing that for many people it is the fact they don’t have a working bike and also they don’t feel confident enough to cycle in London. I’m not sure if you lot could enlighten me on what other things stop people cycling to work and what we could do during bike week to encourage more people to get pedaling! In the words of Chris Morris "It's time to shatter a few myths" - seriously though, i think perception of how dangerous cycling is can be a big deterrent for people? Any other ideas?...
Thanks a lot everyone, I know you're a creative bunch...

Hello there 2 wheeled mans dem,
I have searched extensively for myspokes.co.uk online and on here and found not a huge amount of customer experiences. One bloke said they were swag and they took ages to ship his nountain bike then it wasnt fitted together properly.

Anyone else used them or heard anything?

anyone? On One used to do them but dont anymore, dont wannt spend 50 quid on a surly one...
Anyone got one? Here's the story, my steel road frame has been stretched from 126 to 135, i built a wheel using an on one 135 fixed/fixed hub and i have the 118mm bottom bracket to compensate for the interesting chainline deficiency which is finally rectified!! unfortunately the hub's bearings have gone so need to find another hub with 135 spacing. They seem as rare as hens teeth, thought it'd bring it to the forum. Thanks everyone.

For sale i have this lovely wheel set. They are 700C.
The rear Wheel is a Rigida 2000 rim 36h (see pic) with Shimano 6 speed cassette which is worn but still useable (see last pic) - it has a broken spoke - very easy to replace I just can't be bothered to do it seeing as i'm going to sell them! Quick release axle
Front wheel is lovely old Mavic rim 36h (see pic) with quick release axle (shimano) and a wolber tubeless tyre fitted to it. It has 2 broken spokes - very easy to replace I just can't be bothered to do it seeing as i'm going to sell them!
Local bike shops sell spokes for about 70p, then all you need is a spoke key to fit them, and something to get the cassette off - as i said it's well easy.
