I have the prototype/demo ti burls fixed bike with the titanium fork. The quality/ride is amazing. I would recommend it without hesitation. Let me know if you have any questions.
The avid bb7 work pretty well if set up correctly and are easily serviced when on a long ride in the middle of nowhere. Jeff Jones puts them on $15,000 cutom builds!!
+1 for anything made by Jeff Jones. I have the Jones diamond frame and truss fork with the jones bar. Its a unique ride that I would recommend to all. :)
Some have asked if anyone has used level components hubs. I have a level rear hub and I have never seen any hub that compares in terms of strength or quality. I have been cycling for a life time and building bikes as a hobby for a lot of years but level hubs are something else! :)
I have used the paul melvin, the surly and the rohloff. The melvin was best by far in quality and was my personal choice for long term use. Sadly i think its also the most expensive :(
I think titanium is a fantastic material for a frame. Most of my bikes and components have been ti (i have a bit of a problem with titanium addiction). If you can buy it at the right price its always worth it.
