Shimano fixed wheelset and Miche sprocket £70
Shimano Open Sport rims laced onto generic large flange fixed hubs.
Rear is double fixed and both threads are in good condition (other side has never been used), also there is no brake wear. The rear comes with a 17t Miche Fixed Sprocket with plenty of life left in it and a generic lock ring. The front has braking wear from daily use and there's slight dent in one spoke, which doesn't affect the whole wheel. Both wheels run true.
Shimano R500 front wheel. Well used. £10
Ridgeback Day 00 52cm Frame and attachments.. £30Well used old frame, great if you just want to build a cheap beater. Headset is pretty worn, and some rusting in parts. Comes with 8 speed gear shifters, cables, brakes, triple chainset and stem.

In the absence of anywhere else within lunchtime walking distance of my office in Victoria (unless anybody knows a place?) I went to Whittards and picked up half a lb of Columbian beans.
Surprisingly good in the Aeropress.
Method for those who care: I ground them at home in the Gino Rossi RR45 (will rebuild this one day and post pics), set a little bit coarser than I would for espresso. First a blank press with boiling water (triple purpose to this: to soak the filter, but catching the water in the mug to re-use, which both warms the mug and cools off the water a little), then 1.5 scoops coffee, add water, quick stir and press straight away. I want to experiment with coarser grinds and longer extraction times out of interest, but for now this is good.
Flat cap coffee cart on Strutton Ground market normally stock Square Mile coffee beans. It's just off Victoria street, across the road from Scotland Yard. Don't think its too far from Whittards.

Cafetiere is one of the easiest ways to make good coffee. medium - coarse grind, 4 mins, plunge and pour into a cup.
Down sides: Not such a 'clean' cup of coffee if thats what you like, due to sediment getting through the mesh. Also slightly more cleaning.Aeropress is probably second easiest to make, and also easier to clean. Lots of online recipes and tutorials as well.
With a Moka pot, wash with warm water and sponge, then let all parts air dry to prevent mould build up.

now I'm normally a big fan of Square Mile roasts but I'm really not feeling their new 'Redbrick' blend.
Seems very 'thin' if that makes sense
I think any espresso can taste thin on certain machines, I had a lot of thin summer blend shots, and also very thick ones across the board of Londons coffee shops.
In the Red Brick though I get a lot of sweet cherry, chocolate and floral notes without a noticable thinness. This is from shots pulled on a La Marzocco strada EP, so will be interesting to taste from other places. -
Also check out the coffee brewing portal brewmethods for lots of different Aeropress techniques.
My method is 14g of fine to medium grind coffee, 1 minute brew time including 6 stirs at the beginning and 4 more after 45 seconds, then plunge after 1 minute until 1:15.
Squaremile sell their retail coffee in 350g bags, so although more expensive (cheapest at the mo is £8), it works out about the same price as Monmouth and Hasbean.
