i will say it's rare purely because i have never seen one anywhere else, the same goes for my local bike dealer...

i'm after a geared bike, sold mine off at christmas but feel after a knee op, need the gears for distance riding...

open to suggestions, because i can't really afford £800 for a new bike at the moment, or not for the next few years at least. fine art student and drinker.

got the day off friday, definitely up for a ride.

had a proper mental crash yesterday along pottergate. didnt notice the ice and my front wheel went from underneath me, going nearly top speed. slid for ages straight into a bollard. managed to move my body out the way but it hit me in the shoulder! all fine just a puncture and bruised leg.

i injured my knee playing football three months ago and just as the swelling was going down it has blown up again. literally stood up whilst sitting crossed leg replacing an inner tube.
My GP says cruciate ligament damage and i'm waiting for a scan or similar at the moment.

i'm supposed to be cycling to paris for charity in 3 weeks.
i have a "york fitness" knee support but it doesn't affect it at all. fixed is definitely on hold for a while.
anyone know any better knee supports or secret remedies???

wondering if anyone knows a good method for constructing them, possibly from an old leather belt or did see a home made double strap 'pad' recently but it looked bulky...and difficult???

found this for £35! unknown frame, just finished my fixie. thinking a geared build would be interesting ...
mostly japanese components, nice bars, selle royal seat, fit seat post and stem too.just the rear tyre would have cost £25 new. any ideas of finding out what it is?
