didn't think it was worthy of a brand new thread, but olympic tickets go on sale next week. might be worth hoarding cheap seats for an event or two- you have a year and a half to figure out logistics.

Hey Leigh! i was in the same position last january, and moved to ncl for a year- you're going to love it.
If you need an american-lady opinion, or help sorting out decent places to live/areas to look, i'm happy to help (by satellite, not in ncl anymore, sadly).housing-wise, one thing i wish i knew earlier in the game is that heaton is actually a pretty comfy/residential area to live at a fraction of prices right Inside the city, and its a really easy/flat/straight ride into town. closer to a huge/cheaper grocery store, near parks, ouseburn, two bike shops, etc..
i chickened out on the research, and moved straight to the centre of town for safety/naievetes sake (which was an awesome apartment), but my heart is still in byker/heaton.
also, the kids are dangerous. lived in west philly for 3 years and never ran into quite so many bold, feral, truant kids as i did in the byker metro station.

probably around 1:30,
when you jumped onto the pavement on grainger, grazed by me with drop bars sticking out of your bag, threatening to impale pavement grannies.also, you didnt respond to my many shouts, making me look like a devastated jilted bike lover somewhere on grainger st around 1:30 pm. thanks, dick.

aware of a few fixed riders doing this

seen quicksilver, its pretty awesome. Kevin bacon! definitely a scene-precursor.. just a few funny parts where someone in the sound effects department decided to Add free-wheel noises when people were riding fixed... im not opposed to buying that one.
breaking away is the other classic, but quicksilver is more satisfying. maybe going to have to be a three film festival.

offer stands, but with severely limited amenities-
don't have very luxurious/complete bedding for the futons,
and as of yet, don't have gas for cooking (out of town, failed to set it up beforehand). spot is pretty accessible to all sorts of food.the others might know where you'll find good pasta, in case i'm still without primitive cooking amenities at that point
everything else is alright, i think.
