What is so wrong with doing that if someone is after a road going frame that they can used fixed then that is a good solution isn't it?

What changes should be made other than the dropouts/track ends to make it acceptable to you?

Fair play you're quite right...there are bigger crimes in the world...it's just that I remember the days when the whole spirit of the fixed gear scene was converting old road bikes, finding a gem of a track frame in somebody's garage etc etc etc...

....I don't know now there are so many of these fat tubed road aly road frames with track ends smacked on the back...it just seems a bit sad Iguess...

Another vote for Maxxis Re-fuse, have been using them for a couple of years and taking into account price I don't think they can be beaten for puncture protection, even though they cut up like crazy...nothing seems to get through.

Petra cycles are very good for shimano spares....may be worth contacting them.

Is it possible to attach an AHead style stem to a 1" fork?
Is there such a thing as 1" stem (ahead not quill).

All 1 1/8 stems should come with the shim for a 1" threadless fork (just pop into any bike shop they will probably give you one...if you really struggle I probably have one...).

There should be lots of 1" ahead stems kicking around as well on ebay etc...

As to whether you can use an 1" ahead stem on a threaded fork without any issue I am not sure. You can get 1" threadless forks although they are less and less common these days.
