if i may join your rant...
i nearly crashed twice today from stupid pedestrians walking out in the road without looking and in both cases they were only meters way from a crossing, A few choice words were had! luckily i was going slowly to get used to my new fixed wheel bike.

rant over!

I am looking for a rear fixed wheel for my first conversion, was just wondering what was out there and how much i should pay for a rear wheel or hub. It doesn't have to be amazing as is my first fixed gear but would appreciate any suggestions or if you have one knocking about that i could buy from you.
