Thanks for the helpful hints guys. I am scrambling to work out the route as I’m there from Monday (and the place doesn’t have showers!). Google maps suggested going along the canal too, but I haven’t been on it before and usually avoid them as you can’t boot it on them generally.
I ride on one Pompino fixie with 25’s marathon plus. -

Hi all,
Not sure where this should be posted so admins please move where appropriate.
I’m now having to work from our DR site in Northolt from Monday. I can’t bear the tube commute from Walthamstow.
Can anyone help me with tips on getting from Regent’s Park / central London ish to Northolt? Looks like I have to dice with death on the west way flyover and all the other hellish roads round there. Does anyone riding similar routes have any tips? Looks like the route will be around 20m. -
tenderloin
why you selling then? did you put offer in on wisteria house in bedford?
i went into the plough and harrow round the corner from you and asked for smashed avocado on sourdough toast and the barmaid nearly slapped me across the face. leytonstone is a bit of a dump if i am honest. i thought it was turning hipster. -
no idea how to reply to your post and link what you said but to paraphrase, you said driving round walthamstow is awful, with closures to rat runs and traffic calming being put in.
Isn't it a bit ironic that you are on a cycling forum complaining about a borough that is promoting cycling and installing measures to encourage more people to get out of their cars and cycle? are you lost mate?
i see from your previous posts you live in leytonstone...this makes sense. i'm not sure why everyone living in leytonstone moans about walthamstow, it's like they have a complex being the poorer relations. i guess its good for bombing up and down the highstreet in your car with all the other boy racers/drug dealers.
you should stick to cycling and not driving...i would recommend it

Conincidentally my wife had her 9 month follow up yesterday and at the same time a mate from here forwarded your post without knowing. He, like others know that there are people out there that would love to help in any small way they can. Even if the money goes towards paying for meals out or day trips it all helps.

i'm not sure what's happened to @rhowe since i've been gone but he is a complete beast all of a sudden. maybe it's all that gardening? lets just say he ripped my legs off well and truly. great route and decent pace that got us round pretty quickly and in the pub in no time. really enjoyed being back! was hilarious going up that last climb when everyone blasted past. my legs had simply had it and it was seriously touch and go whether i was going to be the first to get off and push on a TRNC. at least everyone was in front so you wouldn't have witnessed it!
found it hard work this morning going up le col de powerscroft road in clapton. boy i'm feeling it.
thanks again everyone, was great seeing you all again! -

haha i think i did give you guys an LFGSS shoutout but i didn't want to 'out' myself as a forumer as i was literally crawling to the coast and you would have been suspicious of my LFGSS credentials...i was riding the blue pompino fixed with carradice saddlebag. was with you guys for about 10-15 miles... but 'dropped' you at the hot dog/lake pit stop :-)

Had a fun night out with @princeperch as usual for our 6th or 7th I can't remember. Set off earlier than usual around 8.30 and sure enough ran into all the usual chain gangs caining it past. Think beckingham? was a club kit (orange/yellow) I remember fairly frequently coming past then stopping, then regrouping and riding all over the place. I don't really care if clubs want to come out and ride together, what I don't like is a group riding pretty fast and drafting right up behind me then swinging out at the last second 0.5cm away from my right shoulder. No need for that. I spoke to a few novice riders and they complained about this also.
Saw a few forumers like @howrad and my hero @Rodmunch a few times and obviously on his way coming back.Had a good time drafting the lfgss tandem for a while. They were going at a very good sociable pace. Said thanks for pulling me along but I don't think it was appreciated by the stoker :-(
Thank god I got the coach and didn't ride to Ipswich again as I was beat. See you all again next year

for 775 i could think of much better ways of spending my money. whats wrong with the street where you're at? seems like the place you got there is alright. this place seems only marginally bigger/better.
unless you're planning on putting down a shed load and the LTV is extremely low i wouldn't want to be mortgaged to the eye balls on that. -

give him a ladder and he will run up it no problem. i was staggered that he was able to get the 'duck run' up as he called it onto the roof (what i mean by that is one long ladder to the gutter, then carry another long heavy ladder up and hook it over the ridgebeam). i have no idea how a bloke his size (he was quite small) managed it.

Cool thanks for the suggestions and I’ll check out Komoot
