Fancy getting a wheelbuild related book.
I know Jobst is probably the most old school respected dude, but theres also zinn and this new chap called roger musson who has the wheelpro website. Musson claims he provides instructions for making many wheelbuilding tools, this attracts me. But I generally drawn towards old school classic stuff, and I beleive Jobst is the respected reference material?
any reviews out there?
Do you think it's possible to learn how to build wheels from a book? If so, I might actually look into buying a book and giving it a go....

how big is the big backpack, and the small one?
Hi Rik
The backpacks are quite large (and expandable). We used them when we went backpacking in Europe a few years ago, and they held everything (about 2 weeks' worth of clothes).
So, if you don't want the smaller backpack, that appears to be all that's not currently claimed!

My wife and I are moving into a tiny, tiny flat. As such, I'm getting rid of the following stuff, no charge.
The only catch is that I won't post them. So basically, you can meet me where I live or meet me where I work (near Barbican station).
North Face bag. It comes with a detachable waist strap:
Reserved for Tamu
Manhattan Portage Company laptop bag. This isn't really a messenger bag, it just pretends to be one:
Reserved for Flickwg
Burro Bag. Kind of cheaply made, to be honest. But fairly large. The interior is made of recycled billboard. It was supposed to be blue, but I guess the sky picture they used was taken during sunset. It's an ugly bag:
Reserved for Rik
Two backpacks. The red one is large and the green one a bit smaller. Both in good shape, as we've only used them 3 or 4 times:
Both reserved for Rik
Finally, some left over bits from my bike. All Bontrager. Oversized road handlebars, stem (for said handlebars) and saddle:
(Obviously the pictures didn't load. Attached below).
Saddle reserved for Horatio; Bars and stem reserved for Upstart
**Will update if any of these fall through.

These are a classic, first introduced in 1966. They also transcend Hipsterdom.
I believe those date from 1979. The shoe may, itself, 'transcend hipsterdom,' but wearing them 'ironically' or because you have some sort of hard-on for the early 80s (but wern't alive during the early 80s) might make them a hipster accessory.

I don't doubt that it is possible to be fat AND healthy. Or 'overweight' and healthy. Just like it's possible to be 'underweight' and healthy. But that sad truth is, most people who are obese are definitely not healthy. I believe the article alludes to that.
It's a good thing to be able to be comfortable with how you look. And you should be concerned about losing weight because you want to be healthy, not because you want to look like some unreal image in a magazine.
I've never had an issue with 'fat' people or 'skinny' people. I'm certainly not afraid of them. Hell, I'm fighting the middle-aged spread these days. I'm lucky, though, because I'm probably an 'ectomorph' so I don't have as much of a battle to fight as some people do!

Not if you're an eskimo/Inuit? Its genetically bred out, the possibility of being "skinny". There would be no fat to keep the inner organs warm in the freezing temperatures, and the person unfortunate to be born skinny, would die of "exposure".
That said, Tonga and Fiji are warm climates, but the indigenous population are large, and carry a greater fat store than many other countries' average populations.
Its again, genetic. The Ectomorph - skinny, fast burn metabolism, (eat all they want and don't gain weight)
The Mesomorph - average to muscular structure, and naturally healthy and strong shape
The Endomorph - fat/obese, slow burn metabolism, stores more fat from each meal than other body typesThese are all genetic models that we all fall into. But some do straddle two body types. But any Ectomorph, can never change into an Endomorph and vice-versa.
I have mentioned these before in another thread, but I can't find it to make a link.Being fat, can easily be unhealthy, but a fat person can be healthy also.
I think that 'ectomorph, endomorph and mesomorph' stuff has been pretty much discredited.

I'd do her in one of her fat folds.
I would.
Seriously.
And she would love it.
And it would probably make her normal again.
I can cure lesbots.
You could lure her by putting a Cinnabon on your nob.

I'm interested in more of what Polka has to say about Beth Ditto, fat people and thin people.. it seems from only four posts there may be an underlying rant just waiting to peek its little head out?
To be honest, Mechamorgan said it better than I could (except for the bit about having a thing for skinny girls).
If it's wrong to objectify women because they are ultra-skinny, then it's wrong to objectify women because they're fat.
I guess it gets to me because I'm American. I got tired of the anti-thin 'big is beautiful' backlash that started happening, courtesy of people like Oprah Winfrey, etc. It's one thing to say you shouldn't obsess about trying to replicate an unobtainable weight or shape (and base your entire worth on looking like some waif in a magazine), but it's another to say 'it's okay that you're 5'3" tall and weigh 200 lbs. You're a real woman.'
That shit is dangerous. Americans always look for reasons to excuse the way they live. It's always someone else's fault. Or it's your 'metabolism' or your 'genes.' How about putting down the fucking 1/2 pounder with bacon and large fries... and getting some fucking exercise?
