I'm definitely not using boss man in a casual racism way but happy to stop using it if that's the way it's perceived.
I've always seen it as a term of deference to an authority figure - owner of a shop - in the same way I call most brown men older than me uncle, often just to wind them up if they're obviously a similar age or younger than me

Awkward situation in the Italian deli yesterday. Went in hoping to get some fennel pollen after the butcher recommended it for the porchetta and a quick Google confirmed it. Owner of deli looked at me quizzically, then said that I'd got the wrong word and I was looking for fennel seeds and I had to stand there and listen to him tell me how to make a porchetta while holding in the intense desire to say, akchually ....

Ashamed to say this mfer was £3.50 and it wasn't a big boy, but hands down the best I've had.
Esters in Stoke Newington
Short, crumbly pastry with a good level of browning, filling was more boozy and tangy than sweet, and importantly it was filled right up to the top!
I'd back 5 of these in a row I reckon

Gerade bei #Kleinanzeigen gefunden. Wie findest du das?

I've been fucking around with my throttle cable for years, can never get it perfect but a mate has put me on to a kit I've got in the garage to put on the car. Going to try it out in the next few weeks since I'm unemployed again and got time.
Doing wiper motor on the VXR8 today, been annoying not being able to drive in the rain 😂

My mate Ryan did the DBW conversion with ITBs on his E30 and it was so sick
Can't find the exact video in the series that covers it but the whole playlist is worth a watch:

Oh yeah it's cooler, makes better noises, but they're not fit and forget.
Cold start and idle are two things that are hard to get right and need adjustments. A lot of people loophole that by setting the idle to >1k rpm but if you live in central and have to sit in stop start traffic until you get out of town then you have to deal with an engine idling at 1250rpm which starts to grate and everyone looks at you.
My aftermarket ECU is not as good as say a Link G4, so the level of adjustment on the tune isn't as good, which means the drivability isn't as good in all driving situations.
I think if you throw money at the problem then it can be a lot better, but mine is a home build. The ITB inlet manifold is home made by a friend of mine, everything has been about doing it cost effectively, but that means the end result isn't perfect.
Alpha N (TPS) based tuning isn't as good as MAP tuning and you need a specialist to get it prefect, and I am not a specialist and it would appear the people I've paid in the past to create the map for my ECU aren't either.

Obviously it's what everyone's personal desire is, it's not just about what's best for performance. otherwise I'd have a turbo instead of really annoying ITBs.
I think the whole motorbike engine thing is cool but it's a niche, be interested to see the performance difference of that same car with the same weight reduction but with a 200 bhp k20 in there instead.
You've got to really want a motorbike engine but not a motorbike to do that I think, rather than seeking the best possible naturally aspirated low power/high power to weight performance
-
Not wanting to pull too many holes, but looking at the power/torque curves for a CBR1000RR, it might rev to 13k but the usable power and torque is really 8-12.5k, so while you can lug it from about 3k and wind it out all the way to 13, when you're on it , you're not really going through as many revs as a 13k rev limit would lead you to believe.
A lightly tuned k20 that revs to 8.5k and comes on cam around 4-4.5k would give the same power experience without that 13k headline figure
-
I mean often on bike engine conversions in other cars (eg classic mini), a lot of the weight reduction comes from replacing an iron block heavy engine with a very lightweight motorbike engine.
However the MX5 engine is pretty light already, additionally it's quite optimised for weight already, for example the bonnet is lightweight aluminium alloy.
So we were all surprised to see just how light this car is.

Wishful thinking unfortunately. You've got to find the right car that's already been welded and then if it's not been rust proofed, take it for rust proofing, then baby it to keep it rust free.
Or don't do any of that and just enjoy it and get it patched when needed.
Mine was rust free, garaged, and barely driven when I bought it.
I did have it rust proofed but it wasn't the best job and it needs welding now but I'm ignoring it.

Totally agree, the sugar crystals embedded in the puff pastry add further disgust to the situation
