In what feels rather simplistic for this thread thought I'd recommend this for anyone who has a similar use case.

I work from home with one room used my office they I'm in most of the day. Thought about a smart heating system but it's only really a single room upstairs I need to control (downstairs is ufh on its own system).

I bought this and would recommend. it's very effective. I now have a nice toasty office without having to turn all the upstairs rads on.

Alternatively I'm using a Pixel 4a that I got a battery change at ismash for £40 and then installed graphene.

After getting sick of the whole upgrade cycle nonsense I've decided I'm just going to run this set up for as long as it works for me.

Judging by the lads and dads in matching Stone Island / CP Company / Moncler and Lego haircuts milling around the pubs of York at the weekend for the Skylights gig there's one of your answers. They are local to the area but sold out the biggest venue. I presume there are similarly shit derivative bands around the country.

Went to see Greg Wilson at The Golden Lion in Todmorden at the weekend. Highly recommend this venue - it's a pub in a lovely ex mill town in West Yorkshire. Great atmosphere - super friendly crowd. If you're ever in the area have a look at what's on. They have some interesting stuff.

I've had contracts where it's been a requirement to show indemnity liability insurance etc and just used hiscox.

I can't really envisage a situation in my case where there would be grounds for a claim and have never had to use it.

I'd also get to work with a suede brush on top of the above suggestion. You may well find that alone gets them back to what you want. And then a protective spray will help against future issues. I use liquiproof which works well.

If shoes don't fit then I think you're probably fighting a losing battle. Opinions may differ but I cant stand uncomfortable shoes (pun intended). I'd sell and buy a pair that fit.

Nice. For me they are the perfect boot. Look great whatever they are paired with and will probably outlive me. Mine are on commando sole which I'd recommend if yours aren't for next resole. Think I've resoled once in 10+ years although may have reheeled. So yes here's to autumn, coats and clodhoppers.

At least it got caught before they were fitted. Speaking from experience when there were massive supply problems with electrical goods around COVID time you've had a lucky break in not finding out the templated hole for your hob needed recutting once in situ. My god 😂
