I put a mavic cxp 700c in with 23c continental tyres. The short end of the drop out is 22mm long. The clearance when the wheel was at the back of the droputs was 17mm (first photo). The clearance when the wheel was at the front of the dropouts was 7mm (second photo). So you have 10mm of chain adjustment if you're going to ride fixed. Either way there's bags of room for mudguards if that's what you want, because I only ever used this bike with mudguards on myself.

This is a Tange Infinity Double Butted Chro-Moly Racing Frame enamelled by Bob Jackson's in Metallic Rosso. The forks are the original Chro-Moly steel, fully chromed. 58cm top tube cc, 59cm seat tube cc, 25.8mm seat tube diameter. Horizontal top tube when built up. It has old style rear drop outs which have enough length to run fixed gear if the micro adjusters are removed. The threads in the water bottle mounts and the bottom bracket shell are fine. There is a top tube nipple for long road pumps. There is a chain nipple on the drive side seat stay for hanging the chain when changing the wheel.
This was the first road bike I ever bought about 15 years ago. I used it for about 4 years and it's been sat in the garage since.
The frame tubes are in perfect condition apart from the chain stay bridge which has rust on it where the rear mudguard clips on. There are unavoidably some chips and scratches to the paintwork here and there. The chain stay is in really good nick because I covered it in insulation tape. On the drive side seat stay there is about 1cm paint chip down to the primer base coat (where it got scraped on a bike stand). This is a standard off the peg colour at Bob Jackson's so they might be able to sort out something to touch up, which is all this will need to look like new. The headset will need replacing if any serious riding is considered.
Offers of above £50, and the postage is £20 on top.

The other bike has been bought and paid for, hence I moved on.
err... this is a better frame than the previous Walvale in terms of material, stiffness, ride, not in terms of vintage desirability I suppose. Take it easy guys, I was offered more money (within minutes), what do you want me to do, say no?!

Dedacciai aluminium frame in red, smooth weld, top tube cc 56cm, seat tube cc 52cm, horizontal top tube design, racing geometry. Original aluminium forks. Was used on the Manchester Velodrome for one season about 10 years ago, sat in garage since then. It has drillings for front and rear brakes although it has never been on the road before.
Comes with Stronglight 1" aheadset, colour matched Deda fiscscale weld stem (12.5cm) and you can have the Kalloy Uno seatpost (which I removed to show it wasn't seized).
The frame and forks are straight and true, and there is a small impression in the down tube when the handlebar swung round on to it, of no structural significance. The paint job has a few chips, primarily on the bottom of the drive side chain stay.
£130 plus £20 postage

Thank you all for a thoroughly entertaining forum. My wife has wet herself reading your posts. Even my seven day old son found it amusing between breast feeds.
I feel at home here, because I'm loved, because I'm hated, because it all doesn't matter really.

ps watch out for more track gear being undersold.
