Its post office red, not drilled for a front brake and after speaking to a few mechanics and Rourke it is not recommended to be drilled out. Made of Reynolds 531 it is well used but in fairly good condition and never crashed. Steerer tube is 1 inch and has been cut down, currently 192mm without crown race on. Takes Ahead stem not quill. I'm selling it as i no longer have the frame due it being mangled by a van(when this fork and myself were not on the bike)
It can be yours for an offer in the region of 30 quid

Also for sale,
41cm outside to outside. 25.4mm clamp. These are also steel with NJS stamp on. These are slightly scuffed on the left side of the bars and a black mark where a brake lever was. I used them for a few weeks as a courier and don't remember ever crashing them. Scuff is from bike falling over or bike leaning against buildings. In good condition for used bars. Like above i will give the red Toshi grips too if i feel generous or get fair offers.
Offers around 30 quid

39cm wide outside to outside. 25.4mm clamp. Made of good ol' steel and NJS stamped. Very few marks on bars. They were on my race bike for a year and a half, only ever used on a velodrome. In very good condition and if i feel generous you can have the clear Champ Yoshida Keirin grips on them too.
Offers in region of 35 quid.

Hey people, I am clearing out and have these two items for sale. Let me know if anyone is interested and i can post some pics and then discuss pricing. At the moment thinking £30 for the fork and £45 for the stem.
Rourke ,1 inch steerer, track fork which is not drillable, made from Reynolds 531 as are all their forks according to the people at Rourke. They're straight blade in Post Office red with world champ bands on each leg and Rourke in white lettering down the front of the legs. I have cut the steerer down so there is now 190mm of it left.
Thomson Elite stem, 50mm length,1"1/8th steerer with 25.4 clamp in silver. It has been messengered on so is scratched and not in perfect condition but it is a Thomson so is still solid. Never badly crashed unless you count sliding out while cornering.
Also have a shim to take the stem from 1"1/8th to 1" or the fork the other way.

Whenever i've been in goal and lucky enough to actually block a shot i usually fall over, i try to get out the way as quickly as possible. However if you are stuck because there are other players blocking your exit from the goalmouth due to them attacking and you get in their way again how do you call it? Surely as has been said earlier "tough shit & play on"
If you think you were hard done by a "blocked shot" get on with it and make sure it goes in next time ;)Did most of us not enjoy playing polo at first because there were so few rules and it was thus quite easy to pick up a mallet and get stuck in, I know I did. You want rules play football or hockey etc. I'm not trying to be all punk rock and say "fuck rules" as I think there is room for common sense rules (not throwing mallets*) but once you start making too many rules you'll end up with governing bodies (look at the uci in racing) and it begins to stifle the game, dude!
Anyone ever used the phrase rules were made to be broken?
I do believe a well thrown mallet is far safer than some of you lot skidding about to stop a shot but then i was taught to hunt with spears as a child....
I wake up in the morning and i raise my weary head, i've got an old coat for a pillow and the earth was last nights bed. I dont know where I'm going, only i knows where i been, Going down in a blaze of glorrryyyyyy!!!!!!

Short of it is I cant care for the bike any more and am looking to pass it on for nothing.
Long of it is:
I'm in the process of moving into a smaller room and am no longer able to offer shelter to a polo bike. It is in need of repair due to small disagreement between us a while back, it came out of the fight minus 3 spokes in the back wheel. I have the replacement spokes but no tool to take off the freewheel so it has sat in my room looking woeful for some time now.
I dont want any money for it as it was passed onto me for free. All I ask is you take good care of it and if do need to pass it on you do so for free. It is of freewheel breed with a one to one ratio and chopped down bars. It also has huge slick tires on it which make it great fun to ride.It would make a good learner bike as its very stable and not fixed wheel.
If you are interested send me one of those private message thingys and i will figure out how to reply and pass the bike on to you.

I would go with a low flanged hub and quite a shallow rim. The theory behind it all being large flange and deep section rims put spokes under more tension/ stress so when the wheel takes a hit from something (ball/mallet/pedal/ bike/ small child) its more like to snap. Longer spokes allow for more flex and less broken spokes. Still keep the spoke count quite high, i have 36h but sure you could go a little lower. Look at what they ride Paris- Roubaix on. I have several bent spokes on both wheels but not broken a spoke yet apart from that one time i attacked my own bike because i was losing. Then again deep v's are a guaranteed cool point....
