I've booked overnight coach travel to/from.
I know there are quite a few forumers living in Glasgow/Edinburgh now so if any of you are thinking about heading down we could discuss travel here.

There are some good points about replaceable batteries v sealed units but having just looked for a head torch which street mostly replaceable battery I found it’s really frustrating shopping experience.
You have to price up light plus battery, and often, plus charger.
Different lights using the same battery means run time changes as you change the light. Lots of brands have proprietary batteries and even batteries that are proprietary to models within the same brand. One brand sells their batteries and chargers separately, another bundles those two items together and yet another bundles it all with the light.
Bike lights are much easier to shop for

I considered the Gamma over the Lambda because of the pins but yeah, not sure of the looks. I have several sets of the Nukeproof plastic ones and think I’ll just go with them for my build. While they are way too modern they are fairly slim so suit the svelteness of the rest of the bike and dark coloured so won’t stick out too much I hope. Plus, you can’t see them while you’re riding and neither can anyone else really.
I put XC iii on my recent Rockhopper project, really an esthetician driven choice. They seem fairly grippy but definitely not on the level of the Nukeproofs so it’ll be interesting to see how they do once I get the chance to do some off roading on that bike and feet are all wet and muddy etc.

it's her personal PayPal account
Can absolutely accept goods and services payments to a personal account.
There are calculators to work out how much extra you’d have to send to cover the fees if you wanted to be nice but it kinda sounds like the seller is pretty much running a business but trying to avoid the fees that would come with a business account or goods and services payments so I dunno that I’d be so nice.

I still need the rest of the crankset though. I'm trying to find 73mm (non-Boost) 165mm long (haha) 1x cranks.
I have some Zee cranks in 165mm, I've seen other pairs knocking around on ebay since buying mine.
I also have a Deore crankset on another bike that was direct mount but I put a cheap spider on instead. The Deore cranks are always showing up cheap.

LFGSS and Microcosm shutting down 16th March 2025 (the day before the Online Safety Act is enforced)
Absolutely gutted that this seems to be the end of times.
Haven’t read every page but have spotted a few people trying to convince @Velocio to go back on closing the forum and that’s not really kosher in my book.
I’d guess that the amount of time Velocio has put into reading and understanding the legislation is an order of magnitude more than any of us have and if that’s the decision, as absolutely heartbreaking as it is, I support it.

It does looks similar to the sonder one, but i prefer the plain look of the kasai
Thanks!
Did you end up using the dmr bolt i sold you a while back for anything?
Yeah I like that it’s just completely plain black.
Not yet, but I will. I was after it for the bb shell, bearings and the bit of the swings that wraps around that stuff to make the pivot so I have harvested that out of it and I think I’m going to build a full sus bmx with it. Getting a suitable fork is proving difficult though.

I just put a Kasai boost dynamo on my Spa Rove.
I've had a few dynamo hubs over the years, never done any maintenance on any of them so user servicability doesn't worry me too much!
Suspect the Kasai and the Sonder are exactly the same hub, wouldn't be surprised if the only differences to the SP were cosmetic too.

No problem. Couldn’t find the comparison thing on the site t googled for it,
https://www.dcrainmaker.com/product-comparison-calculator?type=watch&ids=132250#results
There’s a section for how it does for each of a few sports and under cycling it says it’s compatible with sensors.
