Twas lovely indeed!! Despite my extreme tiredness today I am very very happy!
@SkΓΌlly I miss you my friend! You wont be turning up at the Nocturne today will you?
@furious_tiles I'll have to try to get down there some time!
FYI yall I'm moving to Prague in July for probably about 2 years so I hope to receive some forum visitors in my guest room and to also make it back to London/the UK far more frequently. 7 feckin years is 7 feckin years too many.

Damn, just saw this on facebook. One of the kindest people as all have said... a fellow Philly soul who made me feel so at home in London. RIP Dwayne... my 531 Awesome T is still in regular rotation but will be sure to keep reppin' your witty geeky humor here in your home city. My heart goes out to his family and close friends.

I think I've only ridden on rural roads in Pennsylvania (where I'm from) but it never occurred to me not to - there's not a huge difference in my memory between riding there and in a place like Belgium or France.
But I do recommend staying on roads with a lower speed limit, at least at first, like 35 mph & below, and planning your routes around that. On a road with a 50 mph speed limit people are likely to be driving 70 mph and probably texting or something, too. So just be alert!

something about the cockney pearly suit pictures reminds me of the mummers - these are real tough south philly guys that get dressed up each year on new years day and have a parade through the city, and i'd say they're philadelphia's equivalent to cockney culture. but one day of the year, these big tough guys, they look like this....
it's awesome!
and nikola........ it's pretty clear that everybody whose opinion is worthwhile wants to give you a high five.

Epic Win ! Just got engaged on Christmas Eve!
I've been dating Jim since February but knew pretty instantly he was it for me. He totally surprised me with a ring though! It involved hot chocolate, a bubble machine, a hired band playing "Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground," lots of flowers, lots of smiles... Yay!
So... if anyone wants a good reason to come to the states, wedding in 2012! :) :)

thanks for all your input!
someone else is planning this trip and he's being quite vigilant about making sure the route is as safe as possible. it would be a 3 month - 3,000 mile excursion, which means 30 miles/day average (of course there will be 100 mile days and 0 mile days) - so i don't think it'll be a terribly grueling pace/we should be able to spare days for border crossing.
i am worried about the roads! and i'd probably buzz my hair so i looked less girly/required less personal maintenance.
does anybody know anything about getting a trip like this sponsored?
