hello, i am looking for a 47/48ish tooth crankset, as cheap as is acceptable!
i also need a standard quill, but i'm thinking i need to know more about what my riding position is before i know what shape/size i want? seems a bit chicken/egg though..
i also also want some bullhorns, narrower the better, and a single tt brake to go in the end.
umm that's probably about it! if you can assist with any of this, and are willing to post things, please contact me. thank you!

well i'll need a front one too, just assumed it would be cheaper to get one seperately.. do you mean these? http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Fixed_and_Track_281.html (out of stock..)

so i have an old frame which i would like to use to form a fixed bike - mainly because i assume it is easier than building up one with gears when i have not-a-lot of experience.
anyway, there's no way i'm going to build my own wheel with a fixed hub, so.. where can i buy one? doesn't have to be particularly spectacular looking, and not very expensive would be good too.
i saw some halo aerorage ones, but i'm guessing a fair bit of the £90 they cost is for shiny paint. i would prefer cheaper and simpler is possible.
but if they are the best option..
advice? thank you!

depends how tall your ceilings are but the cheap n nasty (i found they required extra drilling to fit together and entirely seperate nuts cos those provided made everything rattly) "sunny wheel" pulley systems work pretty well.
i don't really see how mounting a bike on a wall gives you much more space than it resting against the same wall.
with the pulleys though i only have slight strangle risk during drunken staggers through my hall rather than expensive bike damage risk.

i do about 30 miles a day (with "rest" days every 5 or so) on a geared bike with a max of 300m hills - if i was going to do a 140 mile ride i'd put a couple of 50 mile rides in the previous week, and rest for at least 2 days prior, maybe some very short "sprint" rides cos my legs feel weird if i don't.
i'd work out the route to ensure that there are plenty of places to buy water and food, nothing worse than being stuck 20 miles from the nearest village at mid day with no water
should drink at least a bike bottle an hour imo
and i'd pace myself throughout, don't sprint up the hills, keep a bit back until you're nearly there
i'd expect to be totally done in by the time i arrived ;)
i would not attempt it on a fixed bike with a shit saddle and (presumably) no padded shorts! but good luck!
