Indeed, I do like my Five Tens, only downsides are ability to absorb vast amounts of water and sheer bulk. I've ridden thousands of miles in them, with day rides up to 170 miles, and they still look fine and grip well.
I've tried Powergrips and the Hold Fast but they don't do too well with the bulk of the Five Tens in a 45. I'm waiting on a pair of Jols and also plan on trying another model from 5-10. They recommend the Savant as being lighter, shedding water but still giving a similar level of sole grip and support.
To be honest I don't need straps with the 5-10 for my type of riding, it's only because I keep toying with the idea of trying fixed. I had clipless and hated them, in actual fact between Powergrips, Holdfast and clipless, some fellow web users have done rather well from my penchant to buy first think later!
You can buy any shoe and get them resoled with Stealth rubber at this place. http://www.feetfirst.resoles.co.uk/cycling_mtb_shoe_repair.php Skate type shoes tend to work the best, Five Ten styling does leave something to be desired.

I used this yesterday, http://www.ratedpeople.com excellent service. The tradespeople phone you up and you can check if others have had good experiences with them. Placed ad, the guy came round within 20 mins as he was in the area, gave me a good quote and he is coming in to do the job tomorrow. Easy. I had 5 further calls off other sparks about the job after that.

The Bataleon boards have concave bases at the nose/tail right? when you stand on it will you body weight flatten that out so it essentially flat at those points or will it continue to hold it concave? I can understand how it is a benefit when turning, just wondering about how that works when you are straightlining. I am after a new board and this technology came out after I got my existing board so just trying to work out how it works.

It was over six months, contravention was 25/03/09 and the Date of Notice was 16/10/09. Yes it was from camera evidence. Seems like a long time. Some conflicting information on various forums,they usually have to contact you within 28 days but if Islington have made moves to find out who the owner of the vehicle is within 14 days and the DVLA have just been slow about it then I will be liable to the fine. I can get in touch with DVLA and find out when they enquired. Might be worth sending them an official looking letter pretending to know what I am talking about before coughing up. These motoring forums seem to be full of angrier people than on here.

I have just received a penalty charge for an alleged driving contravention on Marlborough Road N19. Now they have provided proof and although I live in Bristol I suspect it probably was me as my brother lives in that area. My only query is the alleged contravention happened on 25/03/09. Would I have any right to appeal as this is well over 6 months ago. Surely they have to let me know of any fines within reasonable time constraints.
This was one singletrack a little while ago, not bought one myself but seems like a good alternative;
