GoreTex sucks for bike use, even packlite and XCR. They just dont breathe quite enough. I use a Rab latok alpine jacket, which is designed for like crazy minimalist lightweight climbing. Its made from e-vent which is fully waterproof, breathable and weighs scratch all. plus because its designed for mountaineering, you can fit your head + a bike helmet inside the hood!!

Ok so im a tool and bought myself a lovely looking frame off ebay, but its got a bloody French threaded B/B shell, and i cant be arsed spending £100 plus on a Phil wood dealy when the frame cost me less than that. (and yes i am sure its French, not Italian threads)
Im close gluing in my current b/b cos i want to ride it that bad, someone save me from hurting myself and tell me you just happen to have just the thing sitting in your spares bin!! Ideally i want something around the 105-110mm axle width range, for chain line purposes, but if anyone has anything please let me know!

yeh i spotted that too. what, for the love of god, has he machined his seat tube out for? surely on a steel frame thats just asking for some loverly invisible, structurally compromising rust?
anyhow, id go for something steel, something with TRACK dropouts ( old style horizontal road dropouts work, but its so much neater, and easier chain tension wise to go with proper track dropouts on your first fixed build). oh and 120mm spacing for your rear hub is useful as it is easier to find a decent track hub to fit.
if your buying new, id recomend the following: On One Pompino (a little heavy, but bombproof, and ill be selling one in the next few weeks if your interested!)
Genesis flyer, soma Rush, EAI Bareknuckle (the last one is like rocking horse shit tho). Id try not to be tempted by some of the popular fixed shops 'own brand' framesets, Brick lane bikes does a frame and fork for £117, but the steel used on these is probably submarine grade (having said that ive not seen one in the flesh, they could be great value!)
IN DESPERATE NEED OF YOUR 1" VISTA FORKS!!!!!!!
would need you to post them to glasgow though, is this possable? id obviously pay for this
