GA2G.. im not offended in the slightest mate... Happy to let people know how and what i used for security.
Just to confirm too, I have checked my old keys (as i couldnt remember off the top of my head what shape the key was) and my one is a flat style key so probably eliminates the chances of the famous bic biro trick. So go figure... some kind of lock houdini or a hench guy with a set of industrial sized bolt cutters.
BRICKMAN... Thats precisely it... You throw a bit more at stuff thats of good grade and you have better chances. fingers crossed... but yeah also the sad truth that if i dont see anything over the next 2-4 weeks then i doubt i ever will.

I had seen/ heard about 'some' of those locks getting opened using pens and what not... Never saw it happen to this particular one. Perhaps it was that way... i will never know. Maybe i should have updated the lock a while back... hindsight isn't what i live by though.
The newer versions of those locks are different in shape so i will be no doubt getting myself another new version... unless some one on here reckons i'm letting myself back into the fire by doing so...
THE LUSH:
Thanks! Its this kind of response that i love to read... not because of saving my hard earned cash... just wicked seeing solid honest folk fighting for the greater good...OMAR:
Couldn't agree more to some of what you are saying. At the same time though, its also knowledge that others like to absorb about whats safe and whats not... Some tactics applied in how those questions are asked might be nice.. but CARE... if it helps someone in choosing the right lock and learning through other peoples falls in how to look after their sh%t then fair do's. - Thanks for your kind comments anyway Omar!! (no leads as such - other than a few bikes have turned up at the 'Cash X Change' on holloway road over the last few weeks that were returned to their owners after being stolen and sold there. Can only hope eh! -

It was locked to a thick version of those bicycle stands. Some are old thin worn out grey steel scaffolding type ones, and then newer ones are much thicker with those little blue bicycle logos on a kick plate at the bottom.
So in response to how it was locked up... Im no idiot and i often walk back 2/3 times to check to make sure everything is how i want to leave it .. a little like how people have to check twice that they have beeped their cars when leaving them. I have had that chain for about 4-5 years and never lost a bike when it was locked using it, so believe me when i say i too totally believe in those locks...
I spin my front wheel around so its backwards and nudging against the frame. If i do that then i can put a chain through both wheels and through the frame and of course around the bicycle stands. I almost always pick up the bike and tug it a little to make sure i have done it perfectly everytime as im just one of those OCD type people when it comes to checking that im 100% locked in.
I have all faith in those locks and will no doubt be getting another one as i know they are solid as hell... only thing i can think of is that perhaps over the years the mechanism may have started to weaken or fail itself making it easier to break into. other than that... how else can they have done it?
Just to clarify so you lot all know which lock im talking about... its one of these...

It was locked up with a Kryptonite New York Lock... Im pretty sure it wasnt cut through as it was on a busy part of the pavement and in full view of all the busy traffic and such like... not to say that some scumbags might be happy to be that blatant with sparks and screaching from an angle grinder. I can only think its someone that knows their sh%t as we all know that any lock can be opened if you have the right tools and knowhow... a painful loss....
Im gona stick another poster up that has my number on there too so if you guys are happy to post it up on your facebooks and whatever else then please feel free to help a brother out!
And CHARCO yes .. £500 is the cash reward .... written there because i want it back... why else would i write that? Does the thought of £500 make you want to help get it back? thought so....

Yo Joey... Ive only just seen this epic thread about your nightmare with finding a headset for that frame. It just so happens I have that very same frame yet mine came with a headset in place. All i can say is that it seems to be made by ambrosio and looks like the top one in this link
http://www.ambrosio.co.uk/ambrosio_headsets.htm
Ive never had to take it out so am only going on the design on the top. Worth checking out perhaps.
still available....
