Its the old war horse gone, fucking frame is bent, back wheel snapped in half, front wheel buckled.. Luckily i seem to be ok, except for a cut leg and a sore elbow... Gonna go up to Kings Cross police station and report it too..

Hello all,

Just a quick post to see if anyone witnessed my accident involving a cab driver this morning at around 9:20 -9:30am (12th May). I basically slowed for a red at the lights leading to St Pancras way outside Kings cross station, and was taken out by a black cab. The long and short of it is that i have one witness, and several people who said they saw the cab run the red light. If anyone on here saw it, could they let me know, as the cabbie was being a bit of a dick.
Also my bike is now destroyed.. It was my favourite too :(

My mates just had her Condor Potenza knicked in Westminster.. Its a black one with the "london" decals on it. Also has Silver Thomson seat post and striped red white and green ( i think) bar tape.. SPD pedals and Continental GP4000 tyres (again not 100% on whether they are GP4000's..).

The worst thing about those fixed penalty fines is actually trying to pay them over the phone, takes fuckin ages and its an 0845 number or something, so costs loads.. Oh and a word of warning once you do actually manage to get it paid they only give you the reference number for the payment once, and its usually done extremely quickly.. Had three of these in about the past month, but as i've been riding around london for about 7-8 years now i guess thats not a bad average..
I have to say that it has made me think twice about jumping a red too.

jaygee dude, I forgot all about the track today, say it was damp and thought no track bike stays at home, and then started reading on here, about monday training and was like d'oh!
also am doing stretches to make sure my hamstrings don't burn like a burny thing, so don't want to over exert them before tarck day 3...
I will be doing saturday and monday sessions from here on in though, oh apart from the ones on bank holiday mondays and the ones when I'm away for long weekends with friends, or in a different country at a festival, apart from that I'm in...

As i understand it, getting out of the saddle shouldn't make that much of a difference? ( based on long chat with fruitbat and dmczone at south beer's last monday) surely gearing is the problem, along with rider position?

i ride a 531 holdsworth, from circa 1978.. How log you gonna ride it? Mine is dead strong (and ugly) but will run and run, and soaks up the nasty london cobbles with ease.. Oh hang on its not a track frame, appologies.

BTW, donations are now at £809.

The Eagle just off city road at corner of Sheperdess walk road.. Big beer garden to lock bike in. Plus bar staff have previously let me bring it in if i have had no lock..

The Peasant on the corner of Percival street and St Johns street also allow you to bring a bike in..
