Selling a vintage 1950 spear lugged Gillott frame built from 531 taper-tube. Comes with their classic RJB fork, both with stunning hand carved lugs. The frame is completely without any braze-ons, and has angled forward-facing drop-outs. Spacing is originally 120mm, but at some point it was spread spread slightly to take an old 6-speed hub. Advice from the Gillott marque expert from the Vintage Cycle Club is that it will 'easily go back'!
I love it to pieces, currently running it as a singlespeed path racer with some north road bars, and it rides beatifuly, but it's just too big for me. It's tall at 67cm C-T, but the top tube isn't ridiculously long at 61cm C-C, so it'd probably suit someone 6'2" to 6'4". I'm a mere 5'11"...
It could do with some TLC, ideally a respray, and there are a couple of rust spots on the underside of the top tube. Also a dimple in the right seatstay where a lamp was once mounted, but that would easily be filled and smoothed if you wanted to. Not deep enough to be structurally damaging. The fork could also do with realigning, as the front wheel sits slightly to the left.
It had a respray in the '80's, and if you want you can have the kit that was fitted to it then - mostly 105, with Wolber rims, Cinelli bar & stem and an aero Campag seatpost. I had to bin the Brooks saddle as it was properly rotten and rusted. Got some new Schwalbe Marathon tyres on there now too.
Pics here show it as I bought it a while back:

Blimey, those things are like hens teeth - super light. I was searching for a pair for a long time for a track bike build up, but any that appear as NOS go like hot cakes.
Ben's cycle in Milwaukee, US had some recently, badged as wheelsmith Accelerators, but the sensible sizes and drillings sold in an instant.
Enjoy riding them.
