Well thanks to everyone who gave me good advice on restyling the old bird. Although late, i promised to show you the result.
This is what it looked like.. (London Southend Heartfoundation run)
Worth mentioning:
Shiny black - Armourtex Hackney - About £50, got the nice price since they actually wanted more for aluframes.. Lovely guys!Wheels - Longleaf bikes USA. velocity - Phil rear hub - Formula front. The guy there Chris (i think) was super helpful and even reduced the stated value down to $150 dollars or so to help ease the VAT.
Major issues. The headset bearing cups. Needed pro help to push them back in...
It now weighs in at 8,5kilograms
Well i have since moved from the big smoke after 8 years of mayhem, and find myself in little Oslo.. And yes I cycled the bike all the way from London to Oslo.. The route was London - Harwich (ferry) Esbjerg - Vejle - Viborg - Frederikshavn (ferry) Oslo. 4 Days of cycling in all.
Lovely ride but would have been even better with some company...Along the way:
I do miss London from time to time....... Give us a ding-dong if you come to norway..South London Rocks!
Herman
BTW I´m super happy with the thing. I recommend this bike for anyone who wants a low-cost low maintenance FG/SS bike you want to do some serious milage with. And its super fast!

Hello folks,
First of all, I use my bike alot (don't we all) and in very mixed usage - city - traffic - commuting and long distance (20-60 miles) and leisure. I flip flop alot and have two brakes. Its a drop handle bar with typical drop brakes. I guess it does the job just fine.
I am however considering or even wondering if i should change to proper aero handle bars a la - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/images/profile-airwing-os-08.jpg ..
Reasoning my usage of the current drop. I do use the drop - mostly for sprinting etc. but probably use the rest on top of the brakes bit more - for resting my arms and aerodynamics, esp for longer distances and such - even shorter stretches of city roads. So maybe i would have more advantage of an aero bar? Or maybe i should just save that bit of cash..What advantage do you have of your drop or aero? Or is it bullhorn? I get confused..
Anyway a question of practicality and not æsthetics - they both look fine.Appriciate any feedback

Of course i will document and share! almost goes without saying.. :) Thanks Vinylvilain.
I have some speedy yellow velo's on order and im between the black yellow thing or a deep dark green/blue (or grue as my brother calls it) metallic If they dont have the right shade my default is darth vader black (trying to make it sound fancy).- It's a trusty specialised langster wich has gone many a mile and deserves a sporty speedy look.. -
Hey girls and guys,
I'm about to get the ol faithful a new look wich she really deserves. So powder coating and most likely at the friendly folk at armourtex. Amongs other considering a dark mettalic finish, so I'm wondering if anyone has had any metallic frame work done and maybe even from these guys? Dude said that the metallic was only a little more bread and something they did at the finishing. Got me thinking he ment 'metallic flake' finish where as i'm more wanting the proper deep metallic look. Stop saying metallic.. Anyway, any pointers would be most helpfull. - Hoym -

Hey folks, I'm norweegi... West coast of Norway is an absolute must. Never did it by bike, only by car and foot, but it should be awsome. Just don't camp in some poor farmers field, it can them pretty upset. Just came back from Oslo and yes it is an expensive country, especially now with the current oil inflated exchange rate! 1sterling will just get you 10norwegian (got you nearly 14 some years back). This means a pint of beer in a bar will cost you about £5.50, a six pack of beer in a shop (REMA shop or something can be a tad cheaper than say MENY which more posh) is about £7.50 and whale meat for about £20/kilo. Yes a gas station will charge you £2.50 for a coke but remember that tap water is prette excellent anywhere in the country (beats the hell outa any of the stuff you buy bottled here - really!)
The goverment run NSB train company offers a special cross country one way ticket deal called "minipris" from about £20 to about £40 to all the major destinations - subject to certain times etc etc.. http://www.nsb.no/ticket_and_travelterms/minipris/article24726-2752.html
Thats not a bad deal guys and girls and they are happy to take the bike.. I'm happy to take any questions regarding Norwegian shopping experiences, but don't ask me too much about this vast country as i am from Oslo and we're retarded and only leave the city to go to London.
On a related topic, I'm thinking to take my bike from London to give it a home in Oslo, after the summer. Thinking from Harwich via Holland or Denmark with final ferry to Oslo. Never did longer distances with a fixie or single speed so this should be fun..!Anyway pleased to say hi..
Either that or a fruit knife...
