its true skidding on the roof is not so easy.. last week i was managing backward pedaling skids up there. sad i wasnt there this week. my tyre got a smoking, i found little bits of burnt rubber on my rim.

nice one pistonator, but the idea if spining my tire is a bit long, i work in a bike shop so parts come cheeeep. so i rekon i will just change the sprocket. thanks to everyone for the help.

firstly, my chain tnsion is spot on... i run the right length crank..... my gear ratio is the only problem for the skid spots. so i would rather change my gear ratio and acheive more skid spots than be smoking my rear tire all day!!! as my gear ratio is a bit heavy i think i shoud get a 15 tooof, and i skid all the time.

still if i change my rear sprocket for a 15 i think the gearing will be pretty spot on for me it will give my 5 spots, that'l be al'reet i think

ooops, a foul on my behalf, my chainring is actully a 42, my theroy was right i do indeed only have 1 skid spot. think i should get my self a slighly bigger sprocket.

can i not get the same result by changing the sproket? as it will be cheaper that forking out for a new chainring.
