Bought 18 months ago, and probably never used for cycling due to change in jobs. The material is in excellent condition but has a couple of tiny marks, small amount of bobbling on the velcro - definitely not brand new.
Main roll top section is large. The fold over section at the bottom (intended for your camera equipment) is entirely separate - unfortunately I've misplaced the padded insert that would protect particularly fragile kit. The fact it's separate could be useful for wet/dirty kit.

I've been wondering if donating platelets doesn't get in the way too much, it would be awesome to do. Anyone on here have experience?
- not everyone can do it. you need strong circulation as the machine not only draws blood out of you, it pumps it back in through the same needle once platelets removed.
- it takes longer (used to be 2.5 hours when i last did it about 5 years ago, but i think the machines have been improved since then). to compensate there's a TV and better selection of reading material, but you get used to it and remember to bring a book.
- it's also more of a commitment, frequency wise. I think it's once a month or so
- you can't do it everywhere as the machines are quite hefty - i think the only place in London is St George's in Tooting, but could be wrong.
but overall, if you can deal with the above, you really really should. it's saving lives in exchange for a bit of reading time. no brainer!

called someone out this morning at Kennington Park Rd/Kennington Lane/Newington Butts junction. 4/5 cyclists including me waiting at the lights, guy on a hybrid decides he knows better and wobbles though. there was a big lorry half blocking the junction so you wouldnt have been able to see any traffic turning across you until too late. I did a slow hand clap accompanied by "well done, dickhead" which resulted in him turning around 3 times trying to work out if he was the subject. yes, yes you are.
i do wonder at the mentality of it. firstly you're travelling really slow and obviously not in THAT much of a hurry, so why bother jumping the junction? but more than that - if there's a growing amount of other cyclists who are already waiting at the lights, why do they not apply to you?

Yep, i've been donating for about 15 years and then one of the supervising nurses mentioned it to me a couple of months ago. It's either that they've only just worked out a financially viable or accurate method of testing for this particular sub-type, or that knowledge of it's uses in sickle cell anaemia has increased.

odd bit of blood stuff. recently moved back to SW London, so near enough to the permanent donor centre at St George's in Tooting. I got in contact to donate platelets again. Since I last did platelets, they've started testing for new subtypes, and turns out I'm type "Ro" and that it's more valuable for me to donate regular, whole blood to be specifically used to help those with sickle-cell anaemia, as opposed to platelets.

I think a couple of things might help. You can easily find diet/lean versions of your pre and post exercise nutrition, they'll mostly cut out carbs and fat but leave the protein, which for muscle mass is the more important of the three
secondly, perhaps start viewing your overall calorie/nutrition intake on a weekly average as opposed to per day, might give you a bit more licence.
as to what others have said, I also agree that 2000cal per day is a low target if you're lifting and cycling regularly. by all means aim for a calorie defecit if losing fat is your aim, but no more than 10-15% deficit or you'll run out of energy.
also losing fat and gaining muscle/strength are quite hard to do at the same time. not impossible, but you'll get there quicker by bulking then cutting, then bulking, then cutting.
