Hi guys, i don't know any of you on this thread but i did my first FGSS ride the other week...

The vintage italian jersey ride which the singing pie introduced me to... was a lot of fun...

(We were the dorks on the colnagos and the multi-coloured outfits)

Anyway... we've done the L2B many times over the years and unless you want a medal... which really isn't worth it... then you can just ride up to the start that morning and join in with everyone else...

There really is no point registering and no problem at all to just turn up!

There's four or five of us definitely doing it and it'd be great to hook up with anyone else!

I'm considering doing the Great Surrey Cycle on the the 11th May and wanted to see if any of you guys are interested in doing it?

I'm new to posting on here and don't know any of you personally but i'll be doing it with a few mates and anyone is welcome to join us...

Also has anyone done it before!? Any advice!? Is it a good ride!?

Been reading/researching on here for a while but finally decided to make the leap and register... so this is my first post...

Ok shorts for very quick rides or if i'm going to a bar etc and don't want to look too dorky I wear cut off jeans or combat shorts... Both are great but if your like me and you live in jeans then the cut-offs are a simple solution...

But for any other cycle ride whether its raining or sunny I wear my Rapha Fixed shorts... They are ridiculously expensive but I can honestly say that I doubt i'll ever want to be cycling in anything else ever again... They are perfect if you like the vintage look and they keep you very cool and the padding is discreet and comfortable...

I recently went on a weekend tour to see the paris roubaix race, I cycled for about a 150 miles on an old cannondale loaded with panniers and camping stuff and wore them for the three days solid whether it was sunny or raining and they couldn't of been better...
