check out penaltycharges.co.uk ... good site with instructions and template letters to download etc..., and i think its the first site/campaign that kicked this whole thing off! they helped me claim back just on over a grand in charges last year... including statuary interest fees, legal fees, and ahem what i called admin fees! get in!! Yes, it will be a while before a decision is made, but you can still start your claim!

nice one roxy- i think you summed it up quite well! right, I will keep the Moser and leave it as it is because like you said there is no shame in having more than ahem 3 bikes... although my housemates may disagree. 'save the puppies' - Time to find a track frame!
ps> i've really enjoyed this forum thing tonight :) -
£90 is a lot of moula for a bit of labour, i'd rather borrow some tools and spend the wkend at it! Haven't heard of Magic before will check them out when i'm in that part of town... If i do decide to sell it, i probably put it on the old ebizzle and set the delivery options for collection only, guess i could also make a post about it in the classified section of this forum.. Time will tell....
If you want to sell frame and forks, then I'd be interested.
No, I won't convert it. I need to build a bike with gears.I think BLB quoted me about £90 for a build if I supplied all the parts.
Needless to say, they didn't get the business.
Magic (just down the road) would do a much better deal. -
Brick Lane Bikes eh? is that the place where they charge 50p to use their pump? lol, seriously though thanks for advice, i am keen to have a look in that shop... but i am also quite keen to build one up myself from an old frame... Out of interest, what kind of range do they charge for complete set ups?

If there's one word i fuckin hate it's 'Fakenger'....just cos people ride fixed and carry a 'messenger' bag...doesn't mean they all want people to think they're a messenger!
And besides...messenger bags were developed from paperboy bags (a la guardian style) originally anyway....and i don't remember any paperboys shouting "paperboyenger" to the couriers all those years ago!....ggrrrIt's been a long day
lol, On that note, i used to be a paperboy :) a fixie would have been great back then!

;156993']Seconded.
If you really got that at a bargain price, I'm sure you could turn a profit and put it towards something purpose built.
I'm not totally against conversions. I just think for the most part they should be crap and that frame is not crap...
On top of that, the rear spacing on the frame is probably too wide for most fixed hubs.
HI Mike, thanks for the comments especially about the rear spacing!!! I am on a budget and maybe should sell it and invest in something more purpose built... I'm quite fond of this bike though, maybe i'll keep the way it is and just save up all over again for a track frame, always good to have a spare bike i guess. The frame is F.Moser - Leader, not a great deal of info about it but i've seen some of these frames on ebay sell for a fair bit...

is that top tube 57 or 58cm? you shouldnt convert that frame, sell it too me, or i could swap it for a track frame ;)
hye gav, its 59cm, i'm 6'1 and it fits well. now why shouldn't i convert it? if i sold it to you would you convert it? and are the components really all that? The components are a mix of shimano dura ace (cranks, chain, cluster 9 speed) Ultegra (STI's, calipers, Rear Mech) everything works and i know it was top stuff in its day but they're old and probably won't last ...

greetings all,
-my first post/thread starter thingy...yes, i'm a learner of the interweb and, more importantly, single speeds/fixies! I'm not really a fakenger, just like the idea of riding fixie because i;m fed up of fixing gears that i hardly use and i'm too old for a bmx! i recently got this bike for a bargain price (ask me later), i've done a bit of google and it seems like a decent'ish frame and the components are quite good but obviously i'll be getting rid of all the bits as i begin the conversion... I need help though, i'm keen on a getting a flip hub but wanna know if that can be done on these old Mavic wheels, also- the horizontal dropouts arent that horizontal...is that gonna be a problem?!I'm also on a budget dont wanna spend more than 150 or so...If anyone can point me in the right direction i would be very grateful!
Hello everyone, It's been a while since my last visit. I've been cycling like mad though. My beloved F.Moser bike (pictured above) was stolen recently right outside my house!! grrr, i wish they would have taken one of my kidneys instead! i feel awful without her! if anyone has seen her please let me know! thanks
