hi there-just got a mercian. they built it for me too. I love it and its really top nothc. They are slow and annoyingly old skool. Very unorganised-but as someone else on here told me, if you are patient you will be well pleased. In addition if you travel up they are not snooty and know there stuff inside out. i don't know bob jacksons that well, but would recommend a mercian if u have the patience. i waited 4 months for the build.

thanks all. most places bizarrely are out of stock and evans were about as useful as a trap door in a canoe. Still found some at ribble and they are being couriered as we speak (as a brucey bonus had them 15% off).

fair point and they are a bit poncey, but they have good design occasionally and also there is a definite lack of alternatives.

hi there, been a buyer of a few rapha bits in the past and recently bought one of the new coloured rapha t's. Was really pleased with it, performance was great as was the fit. decided to get one of the new black ones, with the print. recieved it this morning and its much thinner material and also a tighter different fit.

has anyone else noticed this?

also gave rapha a call and they have said that first it was a different material, because of the print and then said that it was the same. anyhow they have said that if i don't like it send it back. they were rather rude and now i am wondering if because they are so successful they are now putting customer service to the back burner. may be nothing but just curious if anyone else has had the same experience?

think that is the chorus platini-bizarre that they only make the top of the range in one colour.

hi all been having a look on the site for a quite a while, garnered some great advice & information for my first single speed (mercian in July). keen on adding a campy record front brake, but the only colour i seem to be able to find is black-does anyone know if they have made a chrome/silver one?

also how different is the chorus? from what i have seen it's just 25g or something

Lastly does anyone know of a place which sells the brakes sets seperately? -so that i don't end up with a rear brake i don't need
