What were you riding, WjP? Ill keep a look out and up my game. You're right though, 100% tired this morning, slow mo edit today. Hi.
Spotted JAMIE on the Deptford -> London Bridge Jamaica Road drag.
He must have had a heavy weekend, he's usually leading the pack but this morning he was cooling out in the mid rankings.
<3 back at you, Ciq x
JAMIE's cooling out IS leading the pack.

so tonight's my third 10+ miler on the trot, then 4 miles easy to loosen up tomorrow and hopefully I'll be in decent shape come sunday for the half (that's basically a taper right?).
given I ran my first half distance the other week and finished on a 7:23 min/mile I'm not too fussed about the pace will see how it goes and try not to knacker myself in the first half of the race
This is impressive mileage, Ciq. No way could I do this distance. Good luck on Sunday to you, Neil and Tibbs.

Hats, how about this, Regents Park?

Last weekend I took part in the Ball Buster Duathlon, which the start/finish on Box Hill. The format is 8 mile (more like 7.7 or something) run, 24 miles bike and another 8 mile run. I entered for a bit of a different challenge to the usual stuff, and I plan(ned) to run Florence marathon in 2 weeks so it sort of fitted in with a bit of training I had done to try and get my body up to that sort of stress and mileage. My prep was pretty poor mainly as I took it as a training session rather than a race, but it was a good experience and I reckon if I do it again I can get sub 3 hours. It was also a bit cold and rained fairly hard from lap 2 of the bike until after I had finished. I was number 122.
My legs are pretty sore now, which I put down to a lot of downhill sections, so will rest them until this weekend and see what shape I get in before trying to run Florence.
I would recommend the BB, well run event, great helpers on the course, and it is run twice a year, one in the spring and one in the winter

Cheers, picked a good morning for it, no wind and just cool enough.
What were you riding, erikjonsson?
Tom, you going up Thursday night? The friend of fixedcheese in regents riding the fluogreen frame. Strong pace for that bike
JAMIE?
I saw someone turning onto Canadian Avenue, Catford, this morning that looked rather 'on here'. -
Thanks bud, all in all a pretty rubbish race even though 6th seems like a decent result. I fell to bits on the run, and got taken by a couple of lads in my wave at the last knockings. My whole race should have been quicker, but might be suffering from a bug as was sick for the rest of the day.
Well done to the others that raced, hope you enjoyed it.
Jamie 6th over all, what a beast.

Pretty sure that was Debbie from my Tri Club, she posted a pic of her skin suit with a lot of holes in, apart from road rash and bruising she is fine, mate.
Bad accident at Bexley 10 last night, not sure who/which team they were from I just hope they're OK.
I was no.17 off the line and there was about 6 or so riders who had already stopped to attend plus a van (not sure if the van was involved at all). Bloody windy out there and it was a bit hairy going down the hill. I think most people wrote it off for chasing times after that, just didn't feel right.

Supposed to be, but I work for a law firm, we have a property department. Not sure how they would know or if they would bother checking. Think (some of the) entry fee goes to charity, so get yourself in. THE COURSE MAY ALSO BE A BIT SHORT (If I PB Ill say its long, just for KL).
Is that supposed to be exclusive to the property industry? Can't see anything that says so, but then 'company name' is a mandatory field on the entry form.

Morning, I used to suffer both, then went to see a nutritionist. I had some gaps (mainly green foods) in my diet. I added in loads of green vegetable and over (or what seemed like) a short period of time my hayfever and any skin blotching went, and has stayed away for 2 years. Keep a food diary for a week and see if you can add anything to it.
I'm finding running a bit miserable this summer... my legs come out in furiously itchy red welts
I'm wondering if it's related to hay fever, but I only get that very mildly with some slight sniffles.
Anyone else get anything similar? Bit frustrating!! -

I did the Colchester 10km race yesterday.
Nicely organised by the Rotary Club, finishing on the atheltics track and with a sizeable proportion of the event on paths through parks. Each KM was marked out which I love in these sort of races, even though I run with a Garmin, I am usually too scared to look at it incase the speed is not what I want.
I did a PB of 35.16, only really a few rises and they come in the last 2km. Legs were tired from about 7km as had taken part in a Triathlon the day before, and the mile times showed I slowed about 10 secs a mile.

Yes, I'm going to get over for this. See you then.
