Yes to cup of tea! And sympathy. You nice person you. But I vote No to free bike. Yes to beater-build, as an act of goodwill, at cost. I'm sorry she's crying but maybe that's necessary, treat it as a 'learning moment', she needs to understand the whole supply and demand thing with 'second hand' bikes is actually built on stolen stuff sold for crack.
Completely agree Skully, you're talking sense. I'm definitely too soft. However she's left the office now so the stern game face that you all know is going back on...

Hold on, are you saying that she won't give the bike back. If so then that's shit and she should get no offers of help.
On the other hand, if she accepts that the bike was stolen and is prepared to buy another as cheap as we can make a decent one then OK, lets see what we can do. You never know, she might turn out to be a really nice person and a productive member of the forum.
WE HAVE THE BIKE!!! Marcellin has been returned! Tillier offered to buy it back off Gumtree girl and she refused the money because she said she should have been more careful.

so **now **she knows it's stolen and wont give it back? but you want us to contribute to building her a fucking bike for free?
i will kick the shit out of this bike when i see it if i hear it's not returned
hahahahaha I think the bike is being returned. We have left all our locks on, Gumtree girl has taken hers off. Although she is in tears and doesn't know what she is going to do with out a bike to get to work on. I should probably make her a cup of tea.

Yeah^. The rear ends are pretty distinctive too. It's even still got the same front tyre.
They've kept my old back wheel on too - iro hub, velocity rim, and there will be a dink in one of the spokes somewhere too...Also, Shop 14 did the conversion ... everything apart from the spray remains the same. Even a zip tie that was used to keep handlebars in place while she got a bolt from the shop is still there...

Thing is - Tillier phoned the police when it was stolen and they said there was nothing they could do because the CCTV outside the cinema doesn't film where the bike racks are note to all people going to Richmix...however we have photos of tillier on the bike during summer etc etc . Frame was an old one purchased in France.

My friend tillier had her bike 'Marcellin' stolen from outside the Richmix Cinema in September see thread here... http://www.londonfgss.com/thread29204.html
/attachments/17377It has just been spotted about 30 mins ago locked up outside Strada on Commercial St. There is no disguising that this is Tillier's bike, minus the change of colour, it still has the same old headset, and my old back wheel which I sold her. NO parts have been changed so likelihood is this person either nicked (admittedly, doubtful) or just bought it complete.
We have locked the shit out of the bike and left a number to call when they come back to the bike. Tillier has pre called the police just in case we get into a bit of a ruccas...Uhm, anything else we need to think about ?

Morzine is big, and tends to be the british seasonaires resort of choice so chances of jobs could be minimal. Perhaps do some research on La Plagne area, Its massive and tends to get overlooked by seasonaires on their first port of call. Doesn't matter where you go though really, doing a season is awesome and you'll love it.
Chalet work isn't too bad at all, just need to be organised and you'll get a full day on mountain. Try Crystal, Inghams, Neilson. Minimal customer contact is good when chalet assistant or handy man if you don't mind getting your hands dirty. Also doing resort transfers on weekend are good for a bit of cash (rest of the week free). DO NOT RESORT REP, IT SUCKS.
Have a great season!
PS. Sorry to be a party pooper but this bit below is not cool, and also offensive. Avalanches kill, please remember this!
anyone else ride the awesome little valley that runs down the back of the big gondola and brings you down that narrow track behind the penken park? started a sweet ass avalanche when I was there - and went back the next day to see half valley had avalanched..

Hello - I worked on freerunning / Parkour for two years and basically had to hang out with 15 year old kids in various cities across the UK, as my client (kswiss) released a freerunning shoe and worked with Sebastien Foucan (french freerunning guru of james bond fame).. Anyway, aside from a traumatic three day visit watching kids jump over buildings in a parisian suburb, I think it is brilliant activity to get Kids involved in ( don't call it a sport as its non competitive - my knowledge knows no bounds) ...these guys are some of the most strongest and fittest guys I've worked with. And its free...
To save my street cred, or whats left of it, I'll DM you with details of contacts, people etc.

You should check out The Greenway, its a cycle path from Stratford that takes you past the Olympic site and spits you out practically at the bottom of Victoria Park, from there you can cycle through both sides of the park, down bishops way and onto Hackney Road then cut through back of Old Bethnal Green road.
Or you can go more direct via Old Ford Bethnal Green Rd, whichever takes your fancy. Either way is a bit more longwinded, but greener and quieter.

We've just done a press day at House of St Barnabas, 1 Greek St in Soho. Amazing venue, there's even an old chapel and garden at the rear where you can get married. Not sure about live music license, but they have an alcohol one.
As far as I'm aware, any profit goes to the charity which helps the homeless.

So, on the thief / spray update - Gumtree Girl paid for it already sprayed. It looks like its been sanded and sprayed as its chipping already. There's even blue bits on the saddle from the spray, so doubt very much they took bike apart. Forks have also been sprayed black.
Not just thieves, but thieves with terrible colour co-ordination and lack of detail...deary deary me.
