While on the subject of 1980s paint jobs, here's my recently purchased Super Pista. It is most likely from early to mid 1970s but appears to be refinished in the 1980s. Apparently this used to be Italian pro track & road racer Adriano Baffi's bike, donated by him as a complete bike to some benefit auction in Italy from which it was bought by the previous owner.

Phil Wood makes couple of different sized Bolt Caps which, at least in theory, enable you to change the hub spacing within certain limits. Google is your friend.

Looks odd; rear clearance is super tight with loads of room in the dropouts, braze marks all over the place, and a non matching fork.
The Rossin there was originally a 58cm sized frame, and without its original fork.
The seat tube broke off at the BB after several years of riding in the streets. The broken frame was given to its current owner who, being quite skilled at working metal, took it apart and re-sized it about 6cm smaller for himself as an experiment.

Rad to the power of HHSB!
Also, I know Miglos can organize a nice Zipp/AmericanClassicTi carbon deep dish 650 front wheel with this for an extra 90€.
