If you are moving the brake lever when shifting then that might be the problem - shifting is totally independent of the brake lever with SRAM, you go both up and down with a Campag style paddle behind the brake lever.
My calipers don't change gear for me, just as my derailleur doesn't provide braking. Each thing should have one job, and one job alone.
Also a major let down is the lack of multiple shifts.
SRAM is rubbish and anyone who rides it with pride needs their head checking..

Sorry, but I've never liked SRAM, and never will. Predominantly it's the obvious let down of the shifting type. Campag designed and patented the best and most ergonomic design. Shimano got in there with the second best alternative and SRAM have had to take what was left. Shifting at all with a brake lever is plain wrong, but both up and down is just awful.
Also the shift feels terrible, so clunky and heavy. I don't like it. My only positive is that a fall left the right lever 'popped out' of its position which was easy to get back in.
I will be burning the SRAM from the disco the moment the new fully hydraulic DI2 cross system comes out next year.

As some of you chumps may know I bought the dirty disco and raced it at Muddy Hell and Rapha Supercross at Ally Pally the same weekend.
I have been nothing but blown away with it. It's almost as light as my campag carb/ti groupset'd tune mig maged cervelo.
The wheels (not the carbon ones) stodd up well to both races and haven't deformed at all.
My only problem is that shit groupset

Awesome that norths should represent so heavily in Cycling weekly. I love the fact I'm so pro I'm watching my open side for the overtake. I love the fact Mickey is so pro he is about to lap some young hipster! Great fun, great weekend. Yet I am still to see any photos of me as Saville, muchos disappointment!
Love you Mikey

I miss you too breaker. Was up last weekend, but I've been working in Bournemouth since May, Hopefully back permanently in a few months, maybe less.
I dunno about the kindle. How do you let visitors to your flat know just how academic and deep your are without shoving it down their throat without a book collection taking up a wall of your flat? What do you then do with that wall, hang a picture? Put furniture up against it? Have a study area? I just don't know.
Thanks Lard, I'll get in touch with Dave and see if he has one, that would be great.
Saadat, have a look at their front page, seems they're still £10, but poised to change traiffs soon. And whats the betting that will be exactly at the same time as the day the Nexus is available!? Might start the tariff early...
-
Aren't they the people who advertise during the big bang theory? Never realised they were a mobile tariff company; good to know advertising just washes straight over me! ;)
Had a look on the site and doesn;t seem as cheap as I'd expected though. Can I transfer my number over? I've had it for 12/13 years now.
-
I would, but I don't have a land rover to carry all my books with me.
How many books do you read at any one time?
Anywy back to Nexus. So I'll be getting one as soon as they come out, but I have no idea what I can do about tarrifs. Presumably there are companies other than the usual Orange/O2/EE/etc from whom I can buy a monthly phoning allowance and I assume it will be a load cheaper than usual if I'm not getting a phone as well? Any suggestions as to where to look?

I think I'd still predominantly use it for reading
Buy a fecking book, not a machine from which to read a book. I still don't get it.
Seems like a waste of money to be spending anything on an electrical device onto which one imports books that one pays for seperately. I bet my bottom dollar you could buy a nice crisp, warm smelling second hand version of the book on eBay for a tiny percentage of the price you pay for the book on download, even after you have paid for the device.
I have this feeling that in hundreds of.years time when civilisation has got over this excessive consumption for consumptions sake historians will look back at images of people reading books on screens made of light using up the last of the energy this earth has to offer and wonder how we could have been so fecking stupid.
Use bark, not plastic!

HTC J butterfly is destined for these shores isn;t it?
HTC is the sh*t. Oh no wait, I meant sh*t. They where good as SPV but slowly everything went wrong until this piece of crap I have been stuck with for over 2 years now; Desire HD. Why they insist on shitty skins and making hardware that seems to have a working like of 5 minutes before it dies I don't know.
In the last week Orange have sent me no less than 3 replacement desire HD's due to them being sh*t and not working out of the box.
Still, better than owning an iPhone.

Spammage:
Dammit.
I'm not one for gushing over others machines but that is wonderful. Everything I've ready about that frame is extremely complimentary, had it not been that it's no longer sold in the UK I prob would have gone for the boardman.
Really very nice mate, hope to see you at Muddy Hell? ;)

Yes and also Rapha Super Cross at Ally Pally next day!
Only concern is I dropped an 8x4 sheet of 14mm ply on my toe on Thu and ended up on morphine in A&E. Lost the nail (although they pushed it back in to stop the skin sealing where a new on will grow) and had the dressing changed yesterday and it's a train wreck down there. Just hope it'll be ok by then!
Zed, does what I said above make sense? Seems right to me! I think if I'd ordered a med I'd be having similar concerns...

Well. I have an On-One Dirty Disco on order (http://www.planet-x-bikes.co.uk/i/q/CBOODDRIV/on_one_dirty_disco_cyclocross_rival).
It's being built on Thursday this week. I've ordered a small as it was the only frame size they had left, but looking at the geometry the small has an effective top tube length of 535mm and the medium is 547.1mm which I would have though of as too large as I tried a 55cm road frame and didn't like it. Will stick with the small and consider stem length as a possible change. It comes with 80mm, although I could upgrade it.

F*cking GENIUS.
Gay car btw; unless your a woman.
