Hi All,
I'm reluctantly selling (to fund a high end mtb) my late 1980s Roberts 55cm track bike.
I have just measured accurately and the dimensions are:
Top tube: center seat tube to centre of head tube = 55cm
Seat tube: centre bb to centre of top tube/seat tube lug = 55cm
Down tube: c/c = 59cm
Seat stays = 52cm
Chain stays = 39.5cm
Rear spacing = 12cm
Head tube = 15.2cmFrame doesn't have a tubing sticker on it, I heard Roberts use a custom mix of either 531 or Columbus. I'm sure someone on here knows better. All I know is it feels very fast, light and stiff, and absorbs road vibes very well enabling high speeds. The fork is round section, for extra stiffness I guess.
The frame is in vgc, i've touched up a few tiny chips. Inside fork leg I've painted a square of white hamerite because the paint was flaking there. There is no rust, it's never been ridden in the rain.
Components:
BB: Stronglight Competition - super smooth, no play
Crankset: vintage Stronglight 49c 165mm with 46t TA ring in VGC (will throw in the Stronglight tool needed to remove this particular crank).
Pedals: Shimano M520 - smooth bearings no play
Seatpost: carbon 27.2
Seat: Charge (modified and on last legs)
Rear sprocket: Miche Z16 with Miche carrier VGC
Chain: chrome KMC 3/32 new.
Wheels: On-one track hubs laced to CPX30 rims hammerited black. smooth bearings, running true.
Tyres: Schwalbe Stelvio folding 25C - used but life left.
Headset: I fitted a black BBB sealed bearing headset which is strong and super smooth. The bike comes with its original very nice vintage OMAS all aluminium headset, I'm told equivalent to top Campag record. I removed it because I didn't want to wear it out riding around town. It's super smooth and complete with the fork crowns.
Stem: Cinelli 90mm fitted, comes with a 60mm Cinelli 1A also.
Bars: Cinelli 39cm deep drop track bars.
Brake: Cane Creek Crosstop lever with Campagnolo Mirage brake and kool stop pads. (rear not drilled)Looking for £680 (dropped from £750). I'm not splitting the bike, would rather sell as one. I'm in Cardiff, welcome to come see it / collect, or I can post and will pack it very carefully in a load of bubble wrap inside a proper bike box. Thanks for reading.

Hi all,
could anyone tell me a rough value of my Roberts track bike? Am thinking to ebay it with a fixed price.
198? Roberts track frame and fork (not sure what tubing, I've heard they mixed 531 and columbus), two tone white and green / gold decals with fully chromed right chain stay.
Crankset is a vintage 165mm Stronglight track.
Bars are vintage Cinelli deep drop track bars
Wheels are currently Mavic CPX30 on On-One hubs
Stronglight Competition BB and BBB headset with original Omas headset included.
Carbon seatpost and crappy Charge saddleAll components run super smooth, a couple of scratches touched up with paint on the frame, always stored indoors and never ridden in the rain. She's a very fast bike, frame feels very stiff and smooth over roads.
I've been bitten by the mtb bug after a day downhilling at MTB Wales near Merthyr so am scraping funds together to buy a Trek Remedy (the hire bike I rode, loved it!). New job means I don't ride much anymore (company car now - I miss my commuting!).
The bike's in my attic but I have these photos I took a while ago with some pista navigator wheels on it.

Recently bought some Lucas Oil X-tra Heavy Duty Wheel Bearing Grease from ebay
Its the same blue colour as park grease (good grease) but this is even smoother, very high quality. I don't know what colour Phil grease is, but this could well be it before its re-branded, as its also USA made. £6.50 for nearly 500g. :)

Hope this helps: I just got a second hand set of RX1s - the bearings were a bit gritty, thankfully they came out. The outer side bearings (smaller ones) were still smooth, just the large inner bearings were gone. Hits on replacement bearings were like £40 for a set. Feck! I carefully measured, bearings are standard size 10mm ID, 19mm OD, and 7mm deep, so i took a chance and got some on ebay for about £3.50... Guess what, they fit, they are smooth as butter, and i'm a happy bunny! The pedals are awesome (noticably smoother than anything I've ridden). Got these:

The bike is sold pending payment and sorting out international postage. Thanks everyone for your interest.
