What to say about this apart from 'an exceptional effort'!!!!!. That puts almost everything and everyone in the shade so to speak.
I can only claim that its taken me 5 rides, mainly, in the company of @mespilus to do my 500km.
Thanks also to @HarmanMogul who joined me on a ride from West London to Windsor and return today to get me finished.

So it's not just cycling that's dangerous in this weather.
I've just returned from Regent's Park where I spent more time drinking coffee than riding. There were very few riders about this morning despite the conditions being surprisingly good. Am now set up for my "Not The Festive 500" as I'll do the distance but can't be arsed to enter the official thing.

I'm pleased to be name checked in such esteemed company.
A quick view shows I, apparently, joined in 2007 but know there was quite a lot of lurking prior. Another check has 274 LFGSS names in my address book so I must have done a bit in my time although why and how I've tagged people is sometimes a mystery as plenty of the names mean nothing.

That sounds like a good idea but as @mespilus says Ruislip is a desert. It's much further on but worth making the effort to ride to the The Land of Liberty, Peace and Plenty in Heronsgate. Unfortunately its distinctly the other side of Ruislip but @mespilus and myself have often toyed with the idea of having a West's there!!

There is a picture, close to current specification, of the bike here from when I originally bought it. Hope that link works, if it doesn't then please let me know and I'll try my phone pictures.
Many thanks to @mespilus for speedily posting my story.
While I can say " shit happens" my real feelings are much deeper even though its only a bike that has gone.
By the way, if anyone see Chris King kit for sale in dubious circumstances, especially wheel, let me know? I doubt if the toerags who stole the bike, by distraction, will do more than sell it down the pub for their next fix, I might get lucky. The thieves are well know locally, in Brentford, having,) form which I'll list. They have been caught on camera but who knows what our great Met Police will do.
Parcel theft from front doors: I was informed by other customers that there are several postings on local neighbourhood fora, including CCTV/smart doorbell stuff, pictures etc of the pair at work.
Stealing cash, from The Roastery, by way of distraction to take the staff tips jar. Staff have CCTV footage of that incident
And now my loss, also captured by CCTV. -

I'll PM location and you can stop by one day and we could do a short ride and have a pint, possibly. If we do it on a weekend then there is a possibility that @mespilus could join us.
Is that as far out as the West's where we met @joel. for drinks in the pub with the 2nd longest name. The Land of Liberty Peace and Plenty. In old terms, being near Chorleywood, it's in Hertfordshire but falls short on Reading as furthest west. It even beats Artefood even though I'm certain we only ever consumed coffee.
